testors

Yeah,
I just saw a load of it in Garden Grove, California, at Brookhurst Hobbies...
Yeah,
it has to do with the cans exploding that causes the hassle...and the price of shipping the stuff on a boat...

The problem is the spray can is certainly illegal to ship and to be honest so is the brush on. It is consider hazardous material. It can cause a lot of problems for the shipper.

No he supplies direct only, to retail. He does me the favour by getting me cans. I will know by the end of the week if I have any more cans to sell, Pm me your details and I will get back to you then.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr still can\'t get hold of the stuff

Scott (Spacemunkie) gave me the address of a place that he got his from before Xmas but they don\'t have an online order you have to e-mail or phone your order through.

I e-mailed them to find out if they had any in stock before I ordered and they couldn\'t even be bothered to e-mail me back.

Hell do these guys want to go out of business if this is how they run their show?

It was I that told Scott (spacemunkie) where to get testors from, it just happens that his Folks live around the corner from the guy that sold it!!!

Do you know how I found him.......

I simply typed \'testors dull-cote\' into the excellent BBC search engine. And lo\' up he popped!! Easy :D

(not trying to steal any glory from Spacemunkie, but he is a git!)

I have to say that it is well worth the effort of getting some! I picked some up from a magic shop where they called it \'roughing spray\' so i bought a few cans. Not enough to pass on I\'m afraid as I already owe Fizl a couple (she got me mine int he first place), but if i can get some more i\'ll pick up as many as i can and let y\'all know!

If you can get some more cans Atacam then I\'ll definitely be interested in buying a couple off you, been trying to get hold of some Testors for Aaages!

Did try PMing you but it wouldn\'t work (probably because I use Firefox rather than IE). If you can get some more to sell please contact me via the e-mail button bellow...

Thanks,
Glyn

I tried for months and months to get this stuff last year. Ended up having to spend more on postage shipping from US than it cost to buy. Would only supply brush on too - illegal to send cans. I have since been told that the varnish sold in \"hobbycraft\" in the UK and ending with the word \"cote\" is the same stuff. Haven\'t hads chance to put it to test yet.

I like Testors dullcoat spray. Although I\'ve had to find alternatives to stock at the moment due to not being able to source it.

My honest opinion is that Vallejo spray varnishes are just as good (as mentioned in a different thread) and they dry quicker, about 30-50 seconds.

Thanks for the tip, Propaintjob.
These might actually be easier to find, since Vallejo paints are pratically everywhere here.
