why wait for him. just grab something and start painting on it.

read the articles and threads here, and you might surprise him when he gets back.
lol

every journey begins with but a single step.

Count me in on the \"thanks\".

My wife swears that I am having an online affair with someone, but she doesn\'t realize that that \"someone\" is make of lead-free lead.
lol

Hell, some of my \'affairs\' are still 100% lead!

Ain\'t that nice?

... thanks to CMON, we all got further...

... dramatically
... emotionally
... brush-wielding-ally...

Seriously, this place brought a lot of the best together, thank you all for your contributions! :bouncy:

Because it\'s all his stuff and he\'s much more nit-pickier than I am. Don\'t get me wrong - not in a bad way. I just don\'t want to screw up any of his stuff because I didn\'t know how to clean it correctly, etc. (I have that \"destroy\" gene that my youngest son inherited. Sometimes it\'s clumsiness - sometimes it\'s just gotta hit something until it breaks.)

Also, I get pee-od when he doesn\'t put stuff back in the kitchen/pantry correctly so it works both ways! (Yes, I\'m anal - I have my spices in alpabetical order. Makes it easier to find what you need.)

I am actually looking at all the different pictures (here and the chick challenge) while he\'s gone this week getting ideas, etc. and just trying to psych myself into doing it.

Gotta add my thanks here too. Not just for all the painting advice but generally to everyone here for making it such a good place to hang out.

oh go on......pick it up, you know you want to ;) anyway, you dont have to post a pic of what you paint.... :innocent:

back on topic: I\'d never have know about other mini\'s apart from GW\'s if I hadn\'t come here, plus the techniques/\"tools of the trade\", magic mixes, etc. So a big Thank-you! to all those that have aided my improvement, and \"you\'re welcome\" to any I have been able to assist :D

It\'s funny, the other day when I was kind of getting burnt out on painting that darn ogre I was thinking to myself of my lost innocence.

I used to drybrush everything and would play 40k, and win best painted awards because I drybrushed neetly with a above average eye for color. They weren\'t very good, but no one knew any better, so I was happy, friends were impressed, etc...it was great! Then I found this place and well, it was all downhill from there :p .

Places on a mini I may have taken 15 minutes to paint, and be happy with a year ago, now take me 2 hours and I\'ll think about it for a day then take 2 more hours to fix it and *maybe* be satisfied. Sure it looks better in the end, but but....grrrrr

Darn Cmon!! *shakes fist*

but really, it is a nice thing, I love doing work I am really feeling proud of, and I really have cmon to thank (blame?), and of course everyone on here...

looking at all the work here on CMON really opened my eyes to what\'s ging on as far as mini painting is concerned...

the work is wonderful and reflects a standard far beyond what i knew was achievable....drybrushing was my chief weapon, too, now i\'m no longer satisfied with the figs i painted just a month ago.

the PaintAid gnoblars i was sent forced me to try new techniques and tuurned out to be the best figs i\'ve ever painted....thanls to allof you guys for direct and indirect insiration, and encouragement.

thanks for letting me be part of this....:)

I have to say again, cos Ive said it before, that this site has helped me to be more than a better painter.I suffer from depression and other crap that goes with it and if it wasnt for you lot I would be in a lot worse health than I am now.

So a big thanks from me and pats on the back all round.

Klute, that is great to hear, I think this place has also helped my sanity a time or two (you all should remember my rant thread a couple months back :D ). Good artists and good people, I can\'t wait to start making it to some GD\'s and meeting some of you all! :)

I\'ll chime in with the happiness, despite the fact that I\'m a recent arrival. Seems to be a lot of good people, good advice, and good fun. Heck, I might even post some of my more recent minis on CMON. Hopefully some of the painters that I know who are actually good don\'t frequent here. For some reason I ended up with a reputation around the place I worked. Heck if I know why. ???
