The hobby takes over my life *rant*

Well, it\'s doing so in more ways than one. One: I\'ve never been so \"into the hobby\" as I am now, this site sure has it\'s hand into that one.
Two: I\'ve been playing with the idea for 2 years now... My own store (games and hobby, that is). How I\'ve pondered so. It\'s not that I don\'t dare to do such a thing. To qoute Noir Désir from one of their songs: \"Je n\'ai pas peur de la route\" (I\'m not afraid of the road ahead).
It was the money that held me back, as this is the stuff that makes our society tick.
So I saved me some money, a family member died (I\'ll always miss you Omi), I quit filmschool and I took every crappy job I could get my hands on. Now, finally, it\'s here.
I signed a contract, got the necessary documents, and paid first month\'s rent. I held the key to the store like it was a brick of pure gold.
The next day I had a day off, so I got in the car, loaded it with tools and started driving, everything done in the timespan of a couple of seconds. I stood in front of that buildingdoor and
turned the key around twice. Nothing was actually happening, but adrenaline pumped through my body. Standing inside I coughed, too much dust had gathered inside.
I now have time till 20th octobre to get the store up and running and I feel fantastic.

You\'re right Finn, writing does work therapeutic :D

It\'s great that you finally got you\'re own store , but a word of advice: never think you can live in the store. It\'s very annoying when you want to buy some Confrontation minis and the owner\'s doing his laundry and he\'s not at the cashier... :p

I\'m rooting for you Tuubje.....

Everyone who succeeds, or gains recognition in this hobby ultimately benefits us all..

Just dont turn into the comic shop owner from the Simpsons:D

Congratulations and best of luck! I think it\'s absolutely wonderful that you have fought for this and won. With luck, people will recognize that in your store.

Maybe once it takes off, we can all get together and donate some painted minis for a CMON world showcase for your store. :flip:

I think Chrispy is referring to what the comic book guy says.

It seems to be his \"catch phrase\"

Like \"worse episode ev-ver\"

D\'oh!

Living in a part of a third world country, that only has access to 4 TV channels, You will just have to forgive my ignorance.

My life revolves around the Simpsons in that, being broadcast at 6.00 UK time, they mark the transition between my working life and my \'real\' life.

Unfortunately, we are so far behind the times, and subject to endless repeats of series one, that Chrispy\'s subtle comment was completely lost.

Could just be \'cos I am as thick as a brick of course...

Sorry Chrispy, But at least I understand now... There is some hope at least...

You go pal. I hope it\'s a winner.

To everyone out there: Maybe we should we donate a painted mini for Tuubje\'s display cabinet???

Actually, as I\'ve heard, it\'s going to be the store closest to my home, about 5 minutes by car, 15 by bike. :bouncy:

I can already tell you I\'m going to be one of your first customers :D
