@Necroghast: Both Snikrot and the gretchin are models i was going to buy and include in my army anyway, so both are fine with me. i like the new handler model, we could pick that one, or we could raise the stakes, and maybe paint the gretchin handler + one or two gretchin...

by the way, here is a LINK to the new ork models (if it doesn\'t work, they\'re under new release on the GW site)

@ref: ain\'t it a good idea to keep a list of paint-offs in the first post of the thread, and edit that post when a new challenge is accepted / finished. maybe change the participants names to links to the minis after judging is over.

@E.y: great idea taking a dated picture of the unpaimted model to show you\'re not cheating. maybe something to remember with future challenges.

Do you know if the gretchin are metal or plastic? I think we should just paint the handler or Snikrot as we don\'t want it to get to complicated. It\'s up to you.

I\'ll say this... you\'re braver than I am, doing complete assembly before starting to paint him. I\'ve left off the little winged dude and his left leg/base for when they\'re done. My brush control won\'t allow him to be fully assembled, first.

I\'ll say this... you\'re braver than I am, doing complete assembly before starting to paint him. I\'ve left off the little winged dude and his left leg/base for when they\'re done. My brush control won\'t allow him to be fully assembled, first.

\"Bravery\" is my second middle name after \"Paul\"

@Necroghast: those Gretchin are all plastic, of all the things being released in january, only the actual special characters are metal.

i say we paint the handler, he looks mean....

@Alextheartist: I have a plastic termie here - it\'s only the basic trooper (p.fist/storm bolter), and it has been previously assembled, but I pulled him to pieces and cleaned him up as best I can. It\'s the only one I\'ve got spare. Do you want me to put him in the post to you? Obviously if you want sergeant/h. weapon parts you\'ll have to look elsewhere... sup to you.

off to a slow start in this thing

just finished the skin on the vamp, is looking good but took me WAY to long to do, cloak and armour next i feel.

How goes the opposition, prophet?

Interesting that we\'ve both done the skin, first.
And intend on the cloak second.
I\'m going to be missing a few days of work on mine, because of busy weekends filled with holiday alcohol (and a demand for hockey score predictions at the pub for gambling purposes), plus I have 9 commission minis that need to be done before Christmas, on top of him.
No, I\'m not going to ask for an extension. The commissions are more than half done already, and I just need to quit waffling on them and settle in to finish them.

My gf gave me my Christmas present early, because of your mentioning the \'post voting WIP thread\'. A new camera (yay!), so I\'ll have a WIP thread of my own to go up once the voting\'s done, too.

For myself, I got her a yellow-ish metal band with a clear rock attached to it, and gave it to her (much later than originally intended) and I suppose I should really refer to her as my fiance, now.

trust me i know the feeling about other stuff to do as well, still got to finish off my Xmas shopping for my lovely lady and have a 1500point Eldar army that ive got to get done by the 24th Feb for a competition, so we are both in the same boat.

still, will get it done by dead line without fail, come hell or high water :twisted:

Just catching up! OK a 40K war walker and nobody accepted, that\'s a damn shame. I pick up ye gauntlet. However as I\'m in two other comps at the moment finishing early Jan, and I\'m WORKING over Xmas, how about a finish date of 31 Jan - or is that too long? Trouble is I\'ll also have to go to the local storage facility and retrieve box of goodies. My painting etc may be crap but let\'s join in the fun. seems it will be a North(ampton) - South(ampton) contest.
