Not \"Il postino\" that is without doubt a great movie.

So what do you think? I saw it the day before yesterday for the first time... so I\'m basically tapping into the ten year old discussion now! lol

Haven\'t seen it, not in my Netflix queue, nor will it be any time soon probably. Just doesn\'t interest me very much.

Pretty bad. I think it weighed in at around 3hrs. I also think the mule put in a better performance than KC did. Favorite part....

\"That boy was me...\" at the end when they reveal the statue of the mailman on the horse. I don\'r know why but I laughed my ass of at the horrible delivery of a horrible line.

She was a dumper, that flick was. Risable indeed!

I don\'t mind long movies.

I actually thought it was pretty good! :) It\'s funny cause it has been used a little bit as the benchmark which all bad movies should be compared to. \"But surely it\'s not as bad as the Post Man..\" So I was thinking it would be a trainwreck... maybe it\'s my taste? ;)

I felt that way about Waterworld. I actually kinda liked it. The backstory was somewhat believable - polar ice caps melted, oceans rose. people live on floating cityies.

Reviewers panned it.

I saw Waterworld long time ago. I remember that I thought it was pretty good. Maybe it\'s because it was Kevin Costner and that he was so celebrated before he did those...

They both do smack of a pretty big ego as well.

I don\'t mind long movies either. I am not partial to 3hr long post-apocalypptic snoozefests featuring Tom Pett cameos.

Expectations probably play a part in this as well. If you\'re expectations are deep in the basement then I\'m sure it meats those nicely. If you sa it in the theater like I did, and you believed Kevin Costners hype about this being a masterpiece then you might have been dissapointed. I LIKED Dances with Wolves so I thought this might be similar.

It blows. \"Das Boot\" without the boat. \"Braveheart\" without the Scots. \"Gone with the Wind\" without the wind. The scene in \"Return of the King\" with the fires being lit reminded me of the Postman quite a bit. Not sure why.

It just had NOTHING in the movie that caught me. What the hell was with the zip line thingy anyway? Who\'s job is it to retrieve that thing anyway?

I actually try to go out of my way to see movies that were panned by the reviewers. I typically enjoy them very much! lol

Book\'s better IMO but the film\'s half decent (suffers from anti-Costner sentiment, like Waterworld).

The anti Costner sentiment only exists BECAUSE of Waterworld and Postman. And maybe a little of the Madonna thingy Truth or Dare.

I can\'t remember much of the movie, but I remember thinking it wasn\'t as bad as it was made out to be.

Waterworld is sort of the same. Cheesy fun, but no where near as bad as it was claimed to be. Except for Dennis Hopper, (possibly the most overhyped excuse for an actor besides Nick Cage) Hopper was awful in that movie.

Still, not as bad as Battlefield Earth! Woof! What a stinkbomb!

\'Vike, it\'s AMAZING how much we agree on.

I found both Postman and Waterworld entertaining. Dennis Hopper should never work again, however.

I\'ve said before I like most everything. But Battlefield Earth I actually go out of my way to tell people not to see it.

Sorry it was dire.
Took a great book and premise, turned into 3hrs of \"Oh for pity sake, someone shoot him....or me!\"

But, since I haven\'t seen Battlefield Earth and will not, it sits right there alongside A.I as a stinker.

Did you guys here Dennis Hoppers Russian accent in season one of \"24\"..... woo-hoo.

Battlefield Earth WILL always hold a place near and dear to my heart. A hometown boy (I think his name is Kerry something or other) was in it. I didn\'t know that, but being a fan of the novel I went to Battlefield Earth opening night. The house was PACKED because of the hometwon guy making good and being in another movie (His other credits include, not kidding here, Pearl Harbor and.... WATERWORLD! He\'s the guy who gets in the knife fight with KC in the middle of the movie!). So, with so many people who knew each other in the house everyone started talking to everyone, quite loudly, and it became a horrible experience for the average movie goer who just wanted to see the film. Well everyone left dissapointed because it was so bad, and we all hoped that the hometown man might get some juicy lines in a summer blockbuster but it was not meant to be.

Anyway with all the chatter I found it very difficult to not be distracted, and I made the mistake of thinking the crowd ruined it for me. So I went back a couple days later and paid full price for the movie for the second time. Ooops!

Who\'s the \"Filthy man-animal\" now?

While it is no cinematic masterpiece it is an average film.

I would go onto recommending \"Mr Brooks\" - which I thought was an really interesting film to watch - but half of you wont trust my judgment after the first sentance.

I agree! I had low expectations for that film, but it turned out to be very interesting....
