@ArchArad: thanks, very kind of you

At work today I suddenly had a little inspiration pop into my mind about where to take the goblin story next so I'm hoping I'll be able to really put that into the piece when it's done...
@Maenas: Welcome good sir, have seen some of your work around here and I'm honored to have you along for the ride, hope you'll be enjoying what you'll get to see

Our D&D group is definitly on full spin, our DM has about 10yrs of experience and we're going for a nice, long campaign with a lovely story developing. We don't get to play that often since we all don't live very close together but nonetheless we keep it going nicely, with some other gaming/painting action on the side ofc
@Krulebear: tyvm for the kind words! Have to say the picture doesn't bring it out completely yet as the little cord from his hat has also been given some contrast, which isn't really showing up. Will have to see next pictures whether that's a question of not enough contrast or whether it's a picture thing.
While at work today a little bit of inspiration suddenly struck me!
The thing I always liked about goblins in many settings is their quirky, sometimes absurdness that creates very funny situations. I'm thinking about things like Goblin Fanatics from WHFB doing all sorts of crazy chaotic stuff, Goblins eating mushrooms to become more powerfull, crazy goblin contraptions and stuff like that...
This was one of the things I immensly liked about SaintToad's goblin earlier, the one that's going full berserk at a butterfly... At this point I didn't have anything like that to add that sprinkle of funny to the scene.
At the same time I was also thinking about how I should go about painting his staff...
Those 2 things combined suddenly made me think about Yoda (yeah, my mind works in particular ways

) and his fighting scene where the old little master is suddenly zipping around the screen like a madman...
And an idea was born: This was going to become: 'Old Master Neko', a blind old martial arts master travelling through a murky swamp who suddenly picks up on strange sounds alerting him to danger which leads him to standing in the position he is on the scenic base I'm trying to create...
To emphasize his age and blindness I redid his eyes to just white without pupils and I painted his staff like one of those walking canes for the blind (the white ones with the red stripes)... took me a while to get most lines decently straight and to redo the eyes as I'm pretty bad at that but I got it to a point I can be happy with. Did forget to take a picture after this session so that'll have to wait until after next session
I'm really having such a blast with this little guy and his base, been a long long time since I was this stoked about a project lol
