well boys and gals. somewhere along the way sukigod decided to poke fun of me and my orks....at least thats what he says. i think his waagh is missing an \"a\" in it. so i mentioned that we should have a paint off here and over at the waaagh.com. so here we are. without further ado,

da rules: paint a looted wagon. we are both starting with a rhino chassis and building up from there. no other rules except to convert and have fun. the stuff is due by dec. 31st. and after that we will have a poll in the discuss submissions thread where you the viewer get to vote on which one achieves better orkiness. of course you all know mine will. hehehhehe.

da spoils: the winner gets gloating rights, forum awesomeness, and most importantly a set of gretchin w/runtherder that comes out in janwaaaghuary.

so without further ado may the battle begin.

p.s. i am also available to bribe any of you for your vote. i give free squirrels as well.

Well, I better get my \"tiny teef\" busy....:D

I\'ve decided to use a Rhino as the basis for my Looted Wagon. The WYSIWYG loadout will be: Boom Gun, Red Paint, Grot Riggers, Extra Armor, \'Ard Case, Re-Inforced Ram, and a Big Shoota. There will be an optional Scorcha, if I have time. The Boom Gun, Scorcha and the \'Ard Case will be magnetized to make the model more flexible.

I spent a lot of time thinking about what I wanted on this thing. I went \'round and \'round about what to make sure I build into this, what would really make it Orky. Teef, spikes, rivets, \'uge gun, rivets, smoke stacks, rivets, big engine, rivets, redpaint, rivets, rivets, rivets. Since this is a smaller vehicle (comparatively) I thought that making every one of these items a big deal (except the rivets) would make the model too busy and cluttered. I\'ve decided the Boom Gun will be the main focal point so it\'ll be the largest item with the most detail - everything else will merely play supporting rolls (but they\'ll still be there).

Now I want my gun to be zoggin huge so I scanned my plumbing supplies and came up with something I\'m happy with (any Ork Boss would be happy with this thing!), but I\'ll save that for later. Suffice it to say, the weedy Rhino body is too narrow to fit what I\'ve got in mind so the first thing I did was to make it wider (is betta).

I\'ve added nearly an inch to the width and extended the \"cabin\" area forward to make more room in the back. This will also let me place 12 boyz in the back should I want to use it as a transport (you never know). I\'m splitting the front half up to facilitate the Big Shoota mount. I can also place a model there to look cool. Orks like dat - lookin\' cool! I\'ve also shaved off all the details inside and on top since I\'ll be making my own interior details as I go.

I spent quite some time last night to get a jump start on da kompetition as my schedule will be tight (I don\'t get much time to work on things like this). I stayed up late and got the banding traps, the hatch and the smoke stacks capped/rebuilt before calling it a night. For tonights schedule - teef and start work on da Boom Gun, we\'ll see how far I get.

so suki had to go ahead and show me up huh? well i been :search around for ideas and actually drew out my entire idea by sunday night. not needing to compensate for my inadequacies i did not enlarge the hull, instead i just added out. so i spent around 3 hours gettting this extra pointy stuff on it and plan on adding on the ram tonight. i am basically making the same looted wagon ironically, complete w/ a really big gun from lowes plumbing section, some grot riggas, red paint, batterin\' ram ard armour and rivets.... ummm some more rivets and uh yep you guessed it more rivets. tonight i plan on adding the engine dat\' makes it go. this should be fun. let me know what you guys think.
oh and \"Oi! you :bleep :bleep :bleep :bleep :bleep :bleep :bleep :bleep :bleep come on ovah\' er\' an bring yer stupid :bleep :bleep :bleep so\'s i can slap yer squigs wif\' some :bleep :bleep :bleep .

i hope you got that one suki. :smiles

Got a lucky second night in a row to put in a bunch of time on this thing as the wife had some class time to make up. I\'ll launch right into the pictures this time (dat\'s wot yer really \'ere fer anywayz!)

TEEF!!!!!!! and RIVETS!!!!!!!

Yep, wot else can ya sez?

One of the benefits of being a long time homeowner (besides being old) is having a lot of scrap stuff around to scavenge from. I hit the plumbing bin my garage and came up with these two PVC connectors. This will be the barrel. I chopped off the back 1/4\" from the larger one to become the extension protruding from the back of the breach block. I\'ve got a hatch and skate ring from the Rhino that fits perfectly inside the gun tube diameter so that will make a sweet breach capper. Here\'s the assembly of the main barrel/gunblock and a quick and dirty in place (not exact) of where the gun will sit.

Looking at it now, I\'ll have to build two separate \'ard Cases - one for the gun and one for troop transport. I\'ll build the one for the Boom Gun first and if I have time I\'ll finish one for the troops.

well i got a bit more done last night as well. managed to finish my own ram.... besides rivets i am pretty much done. (wif the ram that is) the gun behind it is NOT the boomgun. i plan on stopping by lowes today and getting my hands on some pipe for the boomgun. the engine is next on the list so i will be rifling through my bits box tonight to make an engine. and by now yuour probably ready for the pics. so here goes.

and yes it does look a bit super saiyan. so :p

Small update today for me (last night was TV night - Top Chef :D ) - a little extra spiky gubbins on the front and some structural work on the Boom Gun.
Got a lot of plans drawn out but not much time to work on it. I\'m hoping to get the construction done in the first two weeks, leaving me with two weeks to paint. Gonna be tight with family obligations but it\'ll work out.

Pics for today.

Justa small question here. Suki, based on your design where exactly do your side doors lead :). Anybody who try to use them will run into the cannon. I don\'t know, may be closing them altogether would look better. ON the other hand may be I want too much common sense from orks .

Good question skeeve. The side doors will be covered eventually. I want to add \"sponsons\" of sorts that have grot riggers inside instead of weapons - ready to charge out and fix anything at anytime. Kind of a space for them to hangout while they\'re waiting to do their job.

I\'ve already panelled off the interior openings since game-wise, they don\'t do anything for orks, \'ard cased looted wagons only have one access point, in the rear. I\'ll be putting in some gubbins and piping for the scorcha down the road as I have some barrels I\'ll be putting on the back over the tracks that could be used for fuel or promethium, depending on loadout.

Bookmarked!!!!
This will be very helpful for me, it\'s one of my friends birthday in January and I\'m converting a chaos rhino to Orks (he\'s an Ork player) as a present for him.

So I may be pinching a few ideas here and there. Love the big shooty cannon on top of sukis and love the spikeyz on the front of ubers!!!

Keep up the good work guys!!! :)
