Coming to the end of my work night so I\'d figure I\'d take some tpics for ya all! Yes, there\'s shots of the front this time, although not a lot\'s changed up there (more to be added for sure though).

Made progress on the \"sponson\" grot riggers, the decking inside and the gun had been magnetized.

I\'m getting sleepy now and because of gaming nights and such (Mon=D&D night, Tues=40K night) I\'ll get some time on Wed to try and finish the inside walls, back platform and the slapped on armor for the rest of the vehicle (I agree it\'s still lookin\' a bit IG like and the extra panels will definately ork it up!)

Sorry for any confusion there starchaser. IG means Imperial Guard. Much like our modern day armies, there\'s a certain design style that\'s pretty distinct to them. I\'ll be covering them up with bolt/riveted on panels soon.

D&D was cancelled tonight since the DM had to work - so...

I finally addressed the back deck and rear access point. It\'s all I got done and will have to do untill Wed.
I hope this assuages any fears that it won\'t be \"orky\" enough when it\'s done.

You\'re definitely catching up, Suki. The most recent update is looking very good. Hopefully the Orkification continues, and the smooth lines of the Rhino continue to morph into ramshackle Orky style

now thats what i am talking about the back side is just what i expected out of you. the pieces of I joints and L joints work great. i never would have thought of using them for that. ar eyou planning on adding anymore armour plates to the sides of the vehicle or just rivets?

Question: What material is that you\'re using to add all those bits-it looks like some kind of plastic sheeting that you\'ve cut to shape. (I\'m referring to the flat bits, the rounded bits look like some kind of piping)

all of the material is called plasticard. you can buy it from a local train shop. the amount of money i spent on buying plasticard for this build ended up being somwehere around $15. the tubing is another kind as well just like the L joints that suki god has on his.

you can also find this stuff if you Google styrene or poly styrene. Same stuff that most plastic model kits are made of. You can get it in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and thicknesses. Me and a friend e go in together and buy it from a wholesaler in 4\'x6\' sheets at about $15 each and then split it. Saves a ton of money! The I and H beams are most commonly sold in Raliroad hobby shops like Uber said but you get a much better deal if you invest in bulk online (shipping is much cheaper)

I went to the hobby shop (huge place, has everything) and asked for plasticard and a decal setting soultion (micro sol/set) and they didn\'t know what either of them were!

Wow, that\'s pretty sad. Lots of retail places hire people who have no idea what they sell... did you find these things without help from the staff? A hobby store with any kind of railroad stuff surely has plasticard racks somewhere.

Next time you go in, tell them you\'re scratch building a house and need some plastic for a wall. They\'ll probably take you to a big display that says \"plasticard\" and then you can point and say \"This is what I wanted, thank you so very much\". Then report back and we\'ll all have a good laugh.

ok guys.....dont i repeat DONT go to a hobby store like hobby lobby. go to a train store instead. most towns have them. ask for plasticard or polystyrene. that way you can get what you need.

a local hobby store like hobby lobby or hobby land WILL HAVE NO IDEA what your talking about.

well here goes. got some more painting done yesterday. but passed out around 8 pm due to the fact i was sick. feeling better now and plan on pulling a 4 hour painting session tonight. got most of the battering ram done except for the white and weathering on the checks. started the top part and am pretty happy with how thats doing. the metals seem a little too bright so i am gonna push em\' back with a little more of a wash of that wonderful badab black. let me know what you think.

Love the shading that\'s going on with those armor plates! The red is perfect (in my book) and really gives it a ton of depth and adds a layer of weathered grime instead of just being \"dirty\". Those checks across the front angles are superbly executed too - can\'t wait to see the white on it. Tip - using the Devlin mud on the whites helps add a washed out rust effect very easily.

Great job uber - now I\'m all excited to finish my build and slap some paint around too.

I wanna paint 8 layers of red!!!!!! :yes::yes:

p.s. Are you highlighting those panels up to Fiery Orange?
