The charity idea was good, but idealistic and misplaced. This is purely for fun...no puppies will die:D

Becca is training a panel of judges as we speak...

You just submit a photograph on Aug 31st of your lip growth. No prizes no entry fee.. it\'s just a laugh. As Becca said..you get bragging rights for the next 12 months...that\'s it...

I am just going to make a donation to the PDSA because I feel a need, but as I donate to them monthly anyway that\'s no special effort on my part...no one else should feel obliged in any way shape or form. Dogs will not be mentioned again in this thread, unless one of the cunning little buggers grows the best moustache:D

Becca: You jump in here now and correct my mistakes:D

My puppers story...

3 months ago, just before starting my son\'s 5th birthday party, I looked outside and saw a puppy wandering down the street towards the very busy street a half block away.


\"Can\'t have that\" I said.


I picked him up and went a few houses down each side of the block and nobody recognized him. We\'d been talking about getting another puppy, and here one walked into our yard!


After the party, we went walking for about a mile around our neighborhood asking door-to-door if anybody recognized it. He had a collar, but no tag.


After no success, we brought him home, put him in our garage and created a HUGE sign that we nailed to our front tree with our phone number on it.


After 2 days of him chewing up everything in the garage, a family with 4 kids called and described him to a \"T\". Kinda sad to have to give him up, put I was welling up watching the kids say \"BOOMER!\" and running up to him.


He was a pit bull, and despite all the things I\'d heard about pit bulls, I still wanted to keep him. Cute little guy.

Shame it didn\'t work out. :(

The \'bull\' breeds are sadly misjudged. Some of them have the fault of being aggressive to other dogs. I have never met one yet that was aggressive to humans. \'Staffies\' like Spike, are renowned for their love of children and the degree to which they will tolerate being poked and prodded.

I really can\'t be bothered with all that pedigree stuff, but it is essential in the UK as pit bulls are illegal...like many other things :(

The anarchist part of me rebels, but the dog lover has some degree of sympathy with this legislation. Idiots shouldn\'t be allowed to cross-breed these dogs. If crossed with any other breed that has a dodgy temperament...well...

Spike is only 18\" tall but weighs just short of six stone. He chews bricks for pleasure...:duh:

Sure...I thought you used stones, pounds and ounces though???

Six stone would be about 84 pounds, 38 killogrammes. You wouldn\'t want to carry him too far:D

When I try to pick him up, it feels like he is nailed to the floor...He is a pedigree, but far too big to show. Which is how I came to adopt him.... My wife wont tell me what she weighs, but it\'s not a great deal more:flip:

no, I don\'t recall ever hearing a measure called stones. so a stone is about 20 lbs?

and Tiff says the dog went back to the county shelter today. So if anyone really is interested it\'s there....

16 ounces in a pound..14 pounds in a stone as I recall.

If that had happened over here...he would be on the front page of every newspaper and people would be queuing up to adopt him.

I could alert the British press...if it wouldn\'t inconvenience you, Tiff or anyone else...They might pick it up...they might not but, if Tiff were to allow them access to those photos...There is a 50/50 chance they might run with it???

Sorry to do this to you Finn, but if this sory hasn\'t hit the press over there I\'d be surprised. This is one sick guy who claimed to be an animal lover (or at least a big cat lover).
The good news is so far as I know the Rotweiler recovered and the Mastiffs were fine and all 3 have kind homes now. The leopards are at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center.

Don\'t look at this if you shy from abuse stories
