The only 3 I saw on your list was a mini with 22 votes, a touch early to start complaining about 3s. Also the mini with the 3.9 (atm) isn\'t exactly well painted.

On the plus side at least this guy gets constructive comments, we all know how difficult it is to get people to comment rather than just voting. I also think that in fact the better the painter you are the harder it gets to get valuable insight amongst all the sycophancy.

It is best to listen to experienced painters advice and work on improving yourself. Personally i consider myself a reasonable painter but with still lots to learn and take on advice on here when i can though i have little spare time.

Personally knowing dragonsreach i know that he wasnt flaming, he was giving you genuine criticism which i wholeheartedly agree with. I know how much he and other posters on here have done to help painters on here improve. I personally annoy generalpoleaxe from time to time as his advice is very worthwhile though he is a grumpy old git, makes DR seem sunny and pleasant lol

All in all post your work in the WIP section and get advice as you go along. the contributors here have doen this with several people to good results.

The most important thing is, drop the ego, be prepared to listen and try new things. Don\'t get stressed its a hobby, people do this to relax.

i personally wouldn\'t vote any of yours below a 5 but i wouldn\'t vote much higher tbh. thinner paints, more layers, and use some static grass instead of flock, it will make it look 100 times better. try posting a w.i.p and see what happens

it seems more and more people want high scores and praise for very little work.

if you don\'t want comments on your ebay stuff just say so in the description part of the submission.

if you want to improve then use the forums and ask for advice, and expect people to be blunt.

lastly, as your selling on ebay i would advise you to get a better lighting setup and take more time on your photography as those pics aren\'t the greatest.

p.s. nothing wrong with dragonsreach\'s comment mate, it was honest and helpfull.
complaining about people not kissing your arse is the reason a lot of helpfull people have stopped leaving comments for others, as it just isn\'t worth the flack.
bear that in mind, as you may need their help further down the line (the mini painting comunity is smaller than you think!)

Having looked at the mini and the comment left by DR I really don\'t see the problem, the comment was spot on. You say that people don\'t complain about the minis they buy from your ebay sales well that is all well and good but consider the fact that the people who are buying from you are not bothered about the end result and just want a painted mini to play a game with there and then, you should consider more the punters who are not even giving your sales a second thought because their idea of table top is alot different than yours.
Not everyone (especially alot of people here) do not go along with the GW idea of tabletop being just basic colours with very little effort.
I am looking at your Konrad mini as I type this and tis is what I can see that I think is wrong,

The painting overall is untidy most of the colours look as if they have been applied quite haphazardly and the paint itself looks like it has been used straight out of the pot without being thinned at all.
There is little or no shading and what highlights there are are quite sloppily done.
There is no definition around areas that need defining ie inbetween the fingers and where different areas of the model meet another again ie the what appears to be an attempt at gold edging around the gloves.
I am not sure whether you have used nmm or metallics but either way they are not done well the gold has no shading at all and no highlights to give contrast between naturally dark and naturally light areas, the silver has these things but again very untidily done.
Lastly the base is just awful.
This is a character mini and even by GW standards they always say that stand alone miniatures on a tabletop such as characters should be given that much more attention as they are the first to catch the eye.
I am sorry if you don\'t like the responses you are getting but the only way to do that is to improve what is a very poor job.

Having looked through your gallery I can see that you have some skill (the already mentioned SW mini comes to mind) apply yourself more to your work, post WIP\'s in the forums and also the end results in the Discuss Submissions thread and you will get any amount of help from those around you, just posting a picture and putting a very small description in the write up for the submission is not going to get you anywhere fast.

Time for me to parrot back the same thing. Grow thicker skin man, your stuff is tabletop quality but not much better. Thinner paint, less drybrush, ect, ect, push your work in directions you haven\'t tried before. Your selling on ebay and people are buying as is so why not try to better your work then whine about so called flames. I can tell you, DR was nice to you. First picture i posted he roasted my ass over a fire with his comments. Instead of bitching about it i started trying harder, painting slower and more carefully. No matter how harsh the advise might sound, try actually listening to it, they may have a point your missing.

it was part of the first batch, and i wouldn\'t called it a roasting as you had asked for the critisism from dragnosreach himself.
here it is.

As you requested I\'ve gone through your gallery and voted, but I\'m going to comment on this figure and use it as an example of what I see you need to consider on all your figures. Firstly I can see that the paint you are using is not thinned very well. This will, expecially in the case of metallics tend to make the paint look \'Blocky\' and heavy. Thin your paints out with clean water and that will enable you to control the appearance. Secondly there is very little highlighting and shading on your figures and while, form your descriptions, I can see that he are intended for Gaming they could still benefit from a little alteration to tonality. You could experiment with shading washes on the metalic armour of this figure. Rich gold like this could benefit from dilute washes (Don\'t flood the figure) pushed into the recesses of the armour. A Green or Red wash would enhance the armour giving it more definition and a little more Ooomph. What I do see, and is shown clearly on this figure, is that you do have painting control and accuracy, this will go a long way towards your development, should you wish to follow my suggestions. Hope this helps.

I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and realize that what a person types and what a person says can be taken any number of ways. The demon behind message boards is that it lacks one of the key elements of the human character: vocalization.

I highly doubt that DR threw the sheets off that morning to walk out his kitchen, pour himself a bowl of small children and start munching away thinking \"RAWR I\'M GOING TO TRASH PEOPLE ON THEIR WORK. NOM NOM *Crunch*\" Most likely he meant it in a very friendly and constructive matter. Now if he had said this to you in person, via his voice, I bet you\'d see where I\'m coming from, however; more often than not, people can\'t interpret the tone being presented through a string of text on a monitor.

Take it with a grain of salt. He took the time to go through your work, as did other people, and you asked them to give you a rating and why they gave it to you. The people on CMON are generally not rude, so let\'s tone it down a bit and not assume people are out to get you.

If you think I\'m one of \"the elite\" bashing you, I\'m not. Heck, my painting sucks compared to the better guys, but I\'m constantly trying. That\'s what this site is here for: to give people the push to do better.

Actually, this thread is useful for me in that I\'ve realised that I\'m a patronising bastard. I sugarcoat more than the Smarties factory.
