I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and realize that what a person types and what a person says can be taken any number of ways. The demon behind message boards is that it lacks one of the key elements of the human character: vocalization.
I highly doubt that DR threw the sheets off that morning to walk out his kitchen, pour himself a bowl of small children and start munching away thinking \"RAWR I\'M GOING TO TRASH PEOPLE ON THEIR WORK. NOM NOM *Crunch*\" Most likely he meant it in a very friendly and constructive matter. Now if he had said this to you in person, via his voice, I bet you\'d see where I\'m coming from, however; more often than not, people can\'t interpret the tone being presented through a string of text on a monitor.
Take it with a grain of salt. He took the time to go through your work, as did other people, and you asked them to give you a rating and why they gave it to you. The people on CMON are generally not rude, so let\'s tone it down a bit and not assume people are out to get you.
If you think I\'m one of \"the elite\" bashing you, I\'m not. Heck, my painting sucks compared to the better guys, but I\'m constantly trying. That\'s what this site is here for: to give people the push to do better.

Strange thing with this concept of being annoyed / upset or what ever when people do comment or don\'t comment because people either don\'t like your painting or think it\'s not as good as you may think. But as some have already have said and will probably say again to someone later on further down the line, when you post a picture of a completed mini and view it to be commented or rated such as this site does, we should all come to accept that not everyones gonna like our work. These kinda things are always gonna be subjective with what peoples idea is of a \"Good piece\". I\'m not saying that it\'s right to \"flame\" peoples on here, because I\'ve never really read anyones comments where thats applied, but some harsh wake up calls are sometimes needed and makes us realise that there is room for improvement to our work to make us better painters (or what ever else we do).
Anyway I\'m always grateful when people comment on the mini\'s I paintgood or bad, I\'m still learning the basics and try to improve mini after mini using the concepts that people have taught me via emails or by posting on sites such as these.
I Should get back to painting now I\'ve finally got spare time lol

...if someone wants to voice an annoyance over that then let them. They are just venting. No big deal guys. But there\'s not reason to directly pick on someone who is voicing their frustration.
I\'m sure we\'ve all had experiences with school yard bullies. We should always strive to be least like those bullies from our lives as possible. And that means NOT going for the kill when someone is feeling a bit vunerable.

Completely disagree. This person wants to use CMON to whore his wares and then starts slagging the place when others use the place AS IT WAS INTENDED - as a venue to vote and comment on painted figures.
The bullying comments are a crock - there\'s no evidence of that at all. If you don\'t want to get shot down in flames on a forum, then it\'s probably best not to wholesale slag said forum off!
The conundrum is a simple one to solve: if you can\'t take criticism, don\'t post pictures.

Do you think all the Top-50 give a monkey\'s chuff what everyone else thinks? How many of them are active in the forums for example? Just a thought...
And at least 75% don\'t live in an english speaking country; but most do hang out on forums that speak their language.Message original : steelcult

But that is pretty singleminded. It is possible to only want to show of the work to the world and perhaps not wanting harsh criticism, that does not make anyone a lesser human being. Handling criticism is not easy for some people (for a lot of people actually) And you are not going to change these people with this post on this forum. I rather see everybody post miniatures and sometimes having a tantrum on the forum then not posting at all.
So I have to say I agree with Meg!![]()
