Heh, you actually found the comment generulpoleaxe. I couldn\'t find it when i went looking. Hehe, now it doesn\'t read that bad, back when DR first posted that comment to me it seemed a lot harsher. Why yes, i did ask for it and it lit a fire under my arse to try and get better. That was pretty much my point in DR not praising my work and my reaction not being to whine about what he said. Of course i hate to say i\'ve backslid more then a bit since my wife got me into playing WoW.

Hmmm... must drag out the new light box and new camera and see if i can take a picture better then the little turds i still have in the gallery. Give DR another chance to light a fire under my butt again. :D

I was merely venting my frustration at an email I received, from another eBay painter. Now normally i wouldn\'t be bothered with it, but my 17yr old brother, who I raised and is more like a son is getting test done on a growth in his brain and as such I was already near breaking point. I didn\'t mean any ill against dragonsreach or anyone else who comments on my mini\'s, i appreciate the feedback, I wrote it in the fire of the moment and as such the meaning got lost. I do apologize to the community and want to say TY to Meg in particular for not jumping on the bashing bandwagon.

OH and next rounds on me

I must also give respect to the apology, very big of you. So I guess I too must apologize for my overly critical response. :drunk:

I do hope everything is OK with your brother.

Just a final note to this already long thread, go to the search engine on the site, open up all manufactures and artists and place the ratings Highest to lowest and click search. See how many 10\'s are out there.
Some pieces are worthy of 10\'s imo, but someone out there obviously disagrees.

I can though see what people like Meg has stated and I agree with it, cause if I did what I believed to be a \'Bad ass\' job on a mini and was well pleased with it and wanted to show everyone the mini that I worked so hard on, id be pretty upset to see a 4-5 when I felt it was clearly a 6 (no hints there to my work :) ).
But I stand with my original comments, at no time ever in the history of man kind will the entire population ever agree on something, the same will be said with people on this forum, everything is subjective.

10% by my rough count this morning.
And at least 75% don\'t live in an english speaking country; but most do hang out on forums that speak their language.

I loves learning new stuffs I does :D

I thought that the reason you don\'t see them on here a lot was because they were too busy painting ridiculously well!

Amen to that:beer:

It takes good qualities to come out and admit that you were flustered. No worries though! We all do it. Heck I do it when I get nailed in the throat with a paintball or stub my toe on something sometimes. Good luck with your painting :)

I fail to see how it\'s single-minded. The voting and comment system this site uses is integral to what it is and has become. Without it, I doubt that CMON would have become the success that it is, nor have influenced and pushed the boundaries of what people are doing today. Which it has done.

There are plenty of other places to put pics of your figures if you\'re not bothered about feedback or scores. Surely one of the main reasons people post their stuf is to see where they fit in the greater \'pantheon\' of mini-painters or to get some feedback on their stuff.

\'Everybody\' doesn\'t post their stuff here either, so that\'s a moot point. I\'m quite happy for people to fall by the wayside if it means less whinging!

On the point of \"not everybody posts stuff\" I wish it was so that you CANNOT post comments without having a gallery. When I first joined here, I would get baked by a guy who has no pictures posted. It was very tough to tell if it was actually constructive from somebody who knows, or just some jerk looking to roast people online.

As for Wombat, try commenting on other peoples stuff, it builds a bit of forum goodwill. And keep plugging away. I\'d give you some comments on your minis, but I\'m still pretty raw as far as actual miniature painting.

Really sorry to hear that I do sincerley hope that there is something that can be done to help him.
And I do understand about Stress causing you to \"snap\" at someone.

OK, and I apologise for getting somewhat \"steamed\" about it as well.
Please feel free to PM me if you want to discuss any suggestions I can offer.

I think the problem is that people post pictures on this site and think their work is the best thing since sliced bread. Then when people tell them it isn’t that great, they get offended. Hell. I get flamed for stating my opinion. I even got flamed when I said I agreed with someone else. Its madness I tell you.
You need a thick skin to post here. Just don’t worry about it, or move on. You don’t have to post your pictures here. I took my gallery down almost five years ago.
