Ahh thank's guys appreciate the welcome back :)

Still stupidly busy at the moment but I managed to get a little more done on the base tonight. I'm going to be seeing tiles in my sleep!

Looking very good already, I think it's worth seeing tiles in a few sleeps if they look this good. Are you going for a freehand design on the cracked round tile ? Maybe a Greek / Roman style face ?

Hi,

Love what have you done with the daemon and especially with the base. Being honest, I'm not quite sure if have finished the sorcerer, but I think you can work a little bit more on him.

Be sure that I'll be waiting for new advances...

Many thanks,
Mariano.

I'm glad I've finished the tiles. My thumbs are still sore from tightly holding those tiny little buggers whilst I hacked at them with my scalpel! Yes Gandalf I'm going to attempt a freehand in the circle. I was thinking more along the eyes of either a pentagram or demonic relief though. What do you think?

The sorcerer is a long way from finished yet Mariano. He's still very much in the slapping down colour phase

any thoughts or ideas please feel free to share

cheers

Tim

Not sure on a demonic relief, pentagram would work. Mad thought, have small candles dotted about the circle, at the points of the pentagram casting a little OSL onto the demon, a la full summoning incantation.
the texture in that pillar is fantastic, were did you get it from ?

Hi,

I really want to see all advances in this project. I think I can learnt a lot with it.

Many thanks,
Mariano.

@ oistene thanks buddy. The face is shop bought from Scibor's basing range (I can't even sculpt a mushroom!)

@ Mariano if I'm honest I'm taking all of my pointers from Painting Bhuda's basing Earth DVD. It's incredible and I'd recommend it to anyone. Not that you need it, your diorama is going to be amazing!

@ Gandalf i have a mate that does architectural model making. The pillar is just a turned high density foam cylinder that he gave me. Mad for the lighting, I wanted to try to stay away from candles and OSL on the big guy. It doesn't fit my brains narrative of the cornered sorcerer but it's mainly because I'm terrified of ruining the paint job! For the demonic relief I was thinking something along these lines.....

Looking very exciting! I love the chain going to the pillar. Is that a piece of plastic? I like how taught it looks, really gives that column some weight.

Are you sure you are going to add a wizard, what about some Cadian armor?

It's a real chain I found lying around the house. The wife hasn't gone mental and nothing's fallen off the wall yet so I guess I can keep it! I will need to do quite a lot of work to tie the wizard into scene as he's a very different colour palette. I'm open to suggestions What's Cadian armour?

A 40k tank. I think I am getting your thread confused with Rose Model Art's, sorry about that. :) How'd you get that chain so straight?

Haha no worries mate. The chain is held like that mostly by strong glue and gravity! the angle of the pillar lead to a natural tension in the chain and I just superglued it in that position, simples.

Well its looking awesome. I think an OSL pentagram would relatively easy, but you might want to plan o n redoing it a couple times or practicing on something first. Do you have an airbrush?
