First 2 shots I think are great. the last two I see what you mean about running out of room. I figure if you can build a master piece like that you can make an entire themed room to match it and just take the picture in there :)

Thanks all especially for all the C&C. It's been brilliant fun to paint despite the 18 months it's taken me but I know for a fact it's 100 times better than it would have been if I hadn't started a WIP here. All the feedback has been invaluable. Drinks on me if you ever find yourselves in my pub in Hammersmith.

Ill look at doing the blanket back drop Gandalf any type that seems to work best?

I started dioramaizing the front room Diggs but for some reason the wife lost it. I tried to explain my artistic vision but all she could see was 15 gallons of tinted water effect all over the new rug (no dear it's now the sea of woe)

And we're back in the room

Thanks guys

i had a little time over the weekend to take another picture of the diorama which I think is slightly better (thanks Gandalf) but I still think it could be better.

I also made a start on War's base as well. just playing with colours and a few details at the moment, trying to get a feel for the atmosphere. I did make a major boo boo though. I completely forgot I was doing NMM on War and In a moment of madness I painted the pauldron in TMM. It looked pretty good so I decided to redo War. Still early days on the gauntlet and I need to weather down and add some colour variation but I think I prefer the results so far, Thoughts?

Love this dio. Excellent painting, groundwork, lighteffects and (colour)composition. I wish I had a piece like that in my collection. Grand bravo.

Cheers,

Voted and commented :worship!: Will invest in a light tent in the future. Do you buy it at a camera shop? Or somewhere else?

Take care,

I have that same one. BTW the lights are powerful enough for one of the 2 foot fabric cubes as well, which I got for larger back grounds and projects :)

I wanted to comment before, but forum won't let me to do so til today ;_(

AWESOOOOME I really like the wizard diorama, everything looks really well placed, water is great and the flagstone is full of different tones. I am going to gallery now and I'll add it to my favourites. :D

Oh and I am not forgetting about the zombie/skeletons one. Looking forward for advancements it looks terrific now, although it will demand a lot of work! (lots of minis)

PS.: Thanks for the link about the little light tent, I was looking for one too. I will blog it for future reference ;)

Just fantastic, as we've noted several times. Voted and commented.

Progress on the Undead dio is also great. Keep it up ;)

Guys I'm completely bowled over by the response and votes that Weapon of last resort has received! I'm not sure how the voting works really but he's sitting on 9.4(9.7) and 49(22) which I know is really good. Can somebody clarify for me, does that mean 49 people have vote and 22 of those are registered or is it 71 people in total?

@Zab the only problem I can see is the lights over heating. I had it on for around 20 mins, started to smell burnt plastic so turned it off quick smart. Still considering the price point im really happy with the results.

@ Maenus thanks dude. If you haven't already I highly recommend buying Painting Buhdda's basing earth DVD's. It's really what gave me the conference to tackle a base like this in the first place. I really wanted to see how far I could push myself as well. With regards to the flag stones that was an expereiment in colour and pigments that I got lucky with. The base colour was SOOOO vibrant blue my wife was like 'errrr what are they suppose to be?'

@Ark thanks guys and sorry I haven't replied to your brilliant thread yet. CMoN not working and then work have got in the way of anything productive for the last week and a bit. Really looking forward to your kickstarter as I'd love to get some paint on your models.

@WGS yeah I'm pretty happy I forgot too I much prefer the results now. Looks like I'll have to practice NMM on another model. I've sighed up for Tommies painting class in October so I may just leave in until then. Really looking forward to it.

@10 thanks mate, I'm really happy with how that turned out as well. I have a future project in mind that will need LOTS of water so I'm hoping it comes out as well.

anybody going to euromilitaire next month? I'm thinking about it and it would be great to meet up with people

so after a little break from hobbying I've managed to get some more work done on War. Just playing with the TMM on the gauntlet and sword at the moment. I love the sword but even with the ultra detail the 3D printed lines are quiet visible which is a pain. Still it's a technology that's still very much in its infancy and I'd definitely use it again. Thoughts?

They do get hot. Do yourself a favor and take off any safety warning stickers they have on them as well as any protective film they might have on the filters covering the bulbs. Also, don't park them too close the the nylon sides of the tent :)
