Oh god it's 3:15am and I'm doing a 18 hour day tomorrow but 'paint me like one of your dwarf girls' is basically finished. All that's left is to attach and paint the brush tops, highlight the ivy and paint the plinth. Then hopefully some better pics and he's ready for the competition. Loved doing this little guy, great sculpt and I had a blast doing the base. Next project is a kingdom Death sci-fi pin up for BAM, I hadn't forgotten Johnboy :) View attachment 44521View attachment 44522

That's awesome. If i were judging i'd give you something just for the narrative and scene alone forget the great job you did with the painting :)

What a great "little" scene! It's really refreshing to see a "non-violence" scene for a change where the figure is not fighting but actually doing something else. Your painting is top-notch too with the NMM gold and the bricks being the stars in my opinion.

Finished and made the deadline for the competition (just and then only with a fair few stupidly late nights!)

Thanks to everyone who commented, offered feedback and generally helped push me onwards and special thanks to Mally for the idea in the first place

Votings up, it would be great if you could let me know what you think

Cheers

Tim

Not dead yet Ter (although I feel it after the last few weeks) I'm glad to get the little dude done and dusted though. Going to chill for a little bit, see Star Wars and drink beer. I may get a little hobby time in but I need to recharge the batteries

Chees Mally, Kbear and Meanas to be far the bricks where a happy accident. I wanted the cast scale bricks from I forget who but I didn't have the time for delivery. I thought about casting my own but couldn't be bothered and didn't trust my skills. I happened on the the balsa wood brick because I'd just finished the floorboards, had it to hand and thought 'why not' I wasn't sure how it would take the paint and if the texture would would but I'm very happy with the final result, so much b tree than I thought it would be. As for the painting, the secret ingredient is army painter red ink. It really helped give a lovely saturated red tone to the brick.

Thanks is to everyone who voted on him so far. Here's the link for anyone that missed it

also here's the link for the project Bartels final people's choice award. A great competition honouring a great man and cause. There also some really great mini's in here so please have a look and vote.

cheers

Tim
