I know I'm a little late to congratulate you, but I couldn't omit my praise for your Gimli Van Gogh project.
I give you tremendous credit for risk-taking (e.g. the wallpaper), problem solving (bricks), and ambition generally. And to top it off, as others have said, you executed everything beautifully. I'm pretty new on CMoN myself, but this has been a very inspiring, educational, and rewarding project to follow. I cannot wait to see what your next effort will be (once the beers have recharged the batteries sufficiently)!

Sorry for the lack of response, I've been working my arse off in the boozer. However the year is nearly done and soon I can chill. Lots of amazing WIP's to catch up on guys, some serious dale t on show. Happy new year everyone I hope to be far more active in 2016

Thanks guys. So my promise to myself this year is to really push myself, to try and put into practice all of the stuff I've seen in tutorials. With this in mind I'm currently working on the Orc skin on the Black Sailors Cartographer. I'm around 4 hours in at the moment and I rekon I'm around a third of the way through the face (refinement of details, contrast and blends will take a lot of time) loving the change of scale and loving the detail. Such a nice piece C&C welcome

Yeah, that face is shaping up to have loads of 'arrrrrr'-appeal. I think you've definitely laid out a strong scheme for the work to come.
I have admired those Black Sailors figures for a while now. Did you support the Kickstarter? Any idea when one can buy those guys retail?

@BAM I Love your Orc's dude, so characterful so it's great to know I'm on the right track
@Arch Thank you. This is my first attempt at Orc skin, as I say I really want to take myself out of my comfort zone this year. Try loads of new styles, techniques and subjects and not really worry if it's successful or not. Everything is a learning experience, get yourself a nice mini and go to town. You'll be amazed what it does for your confidence.
@Gino2dope thanks man but i really cant take the credit. This little guy is absolutely packed full of detail. Honestly one of the nicest mini's I have every seen
@ Ter thanks dude. You really should and with your eye and hand for detail work I bet it would be stunning. I know you like dragons so i'm wondering if you saw the one by Karol Rudyk? bloody amazing!
@ Saint yep I was in for a couple hundred quid in the end and they are worth every penny. Not sure about when they will go on sale although I did hear that they where going to a few of the big meets this year, I have no idea which ones though
Ok here's where I've got to tonight with the face. Adding purple to the shadow area, highlighted the reds and painted in some of the details. Pretty happy so far although the purple needs toning down and integrating a little more

In other news the results came in for the project Bartels competition and my dwarf won best painted!!! There where some absolutely fantastic mini's entered so i'm completely over the moon. Thanks again for everyones help and input, you guys are awesome

Yeah I saw, he must be selling it at a ridiculous price, he almost include a Karol Rudyk underwear in the special dragon box 300 limited edition.
