Thanks Dazzler, Kbear and Nix.

They're coming together nicely now although im not happy with the sextant so will redo it.

Decided to give myself a break from Orc's for a bit and started this little dude. Very early days yet and this will be the shadow side, so slightly more muted than the other. Fun to paint though

As always C&C more than welcome

Nice start. Bleeding the chameleon colours into the clothing will be a nice touch, showing him part through his transition into blending into his background.

Great start! That's a perfect vehicle for your interesting experiments with color.
What's the model? It looks rad.

Very realistic Tim, I'm sure you can apply these techniques to your new found love for MLP ;)

Cheers guys

Mally, he's an iguana rather than a chameleon, although I can see why you'd think that. Some iguana's are ultra colourful which I thought would contrast nicely with the dark gobo.

Saint & Captain cheers guys. It's the Goblin Shaman from black crow miniatures. a beautiful sculpt with bags of character

Lee, John, Andy, Joce and Diggs thanks fellas you guys rock :)

Hywel actually watching it now (with my son) if I had a cutie mark it would be a paint brush or possibly a pint glass, I'm not sure which?

So after a stupidly busy fortnight I finally got a little painting done this afternoon. 2 hours worth Of adding texture and experimenting with colour. Liking where it's going so far

C&C always welcome

Great colours. There's something almost pointillist in your recent works: little dabs of colour here and there that cohere into a nice overall tone. Quite different to a lot of other styles I've seen.

Maybe some cool tones in the shadows like turquoise? Try in in a not so important place to check it out first if your not sure.

Love your use of color. Super expressive. Does he have nipples or just folds of skin?

Great start on the goblin skin, Tim. I like the muted greens with a lot of warm highlights- this approach suits the model very nicely.

Thanks Dazzler. I've not really thought about styles but that's exactly how I've been doing it. I guess it's kind of large scale stippling. Paint in texture, loaded brush highlights then knock everything back with glazes, repeat. I've painted lots of Orc's and goblins recently and I think it suits them :)

Thanx Nix. He's got nipples AND flappy, saggy skin folds. I just haven't got around to them yet. Looking foreword to it though as there's tons more detail

Hahaha Matt not all wingers then :)

Andy do you mean some light glazing or a slightly more obvious secondary pin light? I quite like the idea of a dramatic OSL (like Baileys and the below reference) but I'm not certain if it would ruin it? There's turquoise on Iggy and I was going to do blue on his tribal mask so it will help to tie them together. Hmmmmmmm
