Tobacco

Ok, recently, an acquaintance of mine had the nerve to say that I am a freak because I favor fruit-scented pipe tobacco.

I have been mocked on account of Apple and Mango tobacco blends, and, frankly, it begins to feel like I could use some reassurance.

Any thoughts?

OH Why????????

I\'m sitting here with this nicorette patch on my arm craving a cigarette...and you had to bring up tobacco. Send me any tobacco you have so i may make an informed decision. lol

But really it sounds like you are unsure about your tobaccohood. lol

Evil Dave, you are now on my prayer list. I gave up cigarettes last September 15th. Wasn\'t easy after 25 years of smoking, but I did it. Hang in there. Get a perscription for wellbutrin (big help). Use both for at least 90 days. If you fall off the wagon, get back on - don\'t let those little white coffin nails win. Keep me posted on your progress.

Never had any mango flavored blends of pipe tobacco. Apples not to bad, but I prefer Maples and Vanilla Maple blends. I avoid cherry flavored tobacco like the plague though. I just dont like what it does to my pipes.

Pardon my ignorance, but I\'ve never heard of fruity tobacco, but I don\'t imagine it could smell worse than straight tobacco.

side note: my mom smoked for 40 years, quit when I was a teen, and now, at 73 does 500 mile bike rides, and can hike for days if she so chooses.

Hang in there for all who choose to quit, the grass really is greener on the other side of this one, it just takes a while to get over the fence.:)

Cigarrettes. Never touch the stuff. I was introduced to the pleasures of tobacco rather late in my 20\'s, and then again, I used to smoke cigars mostly, until some years ago a friend bought for me a briar pipe.

Vanilla and cherry are certainly not to my taste, since the are a bit too sweet for me, but maple is also a favorite, along with apple flavored blends.

But my gaming group insist on smoking Camel\'s, which, IMNSVHO, automatically disqualifies them to critique my tobacco.:flame:

Smoking....

Good luck Evil Dave. I\'m two years and a few months clean of a fourteen year tobacco addiction. Stay strong and believe in yourself. Atomic Fireballs (Hard Candies) helped me a lot too. As for fruity pipe tobacco, I have no clue:duh:

I\'m ridiculously allergic to smoke, so I try to steer clear of the foul stuff. My genius room-mate on the otherhand thought it would be great to buy a Hooka and some mixed berry Sheesha. So now everytime he goes out on the landing to smoke he comes in smelling like a burning strawberry bush and making me die. I hate him so much........:flip::bouncy:

I\'m with you on the cigarettes. My girlfriend smokes those, and I can\'t stand them!

I usually smoke a honey-cured blend, or occasionally a rum-cured, when I smoke a pipe. I\'ve more recently been smoking cigarillos, though, as they\'re a little less hassle and still don\'t have that nasty burning paper taste/smell.:flame:

(Note, the flame is not an angry, it\'s smokin! ;) )

Not so much but my eyes water and itch if I\'mm too close to someone who just was smoking.:(

I find I get nose bleeds if I\'m around smokers too long (like down at the pub).

I\'m sorry if you feel I\'m getting on my high horse here, but I have to say that I HATE smoking, I don\'t like it, I don\'t like the idea of it, and I don\'t want to be around anybody who does smoke.
Just thinking of what it does to you lungs is disgusting, and to think that millions of people everyday are killing themselves, and paying huge amounts for the privelage.

Sorry to any smokers here, but that\'s just how I feel :(

Pipe tobacco..

I haven\'t had a cigarette, cigar or pipe for over fifteen years now and have no desire to start again. When I did smoke however, I used to do it to excess and experimented with just about anything that would burn:D
There are some amazing pipe tobaccos available if you look around. I used to know a few of those small little shops that seem to exist in some sort of time warp..the kind that was full of glass jars of pipe tobacco and thre thousand different varieties of snuff:D
I used to love the exotic pipe tobaccos and was amazed to find that a lot of other folk liked the smell too.
Times have moved on however and now smokers are on a par with terrorists (almost).
My wife still smokes and that is her choice but she has to go outside...in the snow at the moment....:flip:

You know, I have no problem with the fact that you hate smoking. It doesnt even bother me that you\'re so militant about it - but I do have the right to choose to smoke or not to smoke and suffer any consequenses there of - you do not have the right to dictate my choice of what I can do with my body.

Well said Steelcult...I am personally quitting because I choose to. No one who has not smoked will ever understand how hard it is to quit. So when you come up with the self-righteous \"you should quit because I say so\" that inffuriates me to the point were i forget i\'m quitting and light up just to blow smoke in your face. And thanks for the support from all the ex-smokers who have been there.

This is one of those stupid things politicians love....

I am an ex-smoker. My wife still smokes. I hate smoke, but I hate the way smokers are being turned into \'social terrorists\'. Where I used to live the council nailed \'no smoking\' signs on some park seats. We are talking about a damn great open-air park here...and 80% of the benches were \'no smoking\':duh:

I have not had a fag (no inuendo please) for 17/18 years but stilll occasionally get the desire for one when someone lights up - silly really as I know it would taste really foul and make me feel ill.

Frankly I couldn\'t care less about what smokers do to their own bodies but I do object to having a quiet drink in a pub and finding that my clothes stink of smoke when I get home, or of having a meal in a restaurant and getting the smell of someones addiction interfering with my pleasure.:|~

If smoking was confined to the smoker ok! but it isn\'t - I don\'t know if I buy into the passive smoking thing but I just wish smokers would go somewhere else to indulge.

I used to work in a \"cigar shop\" and one of my duties was blending pipe tobaccos. Lovely stuff. It has an unbelievably enticing smell especially when fresh.

I used to smoke, but quit several years ago. My wife too, still chooses and I make her stand outside while she does it. Sometimes, I like to lock the doors, and then pretend to fall asleep. Yeah, I am funny like that!!!lol
