Been to Barcelona something like 10 years ago -- beautiful city!

The cathedral that Gaudi drew along with Gulli(?) Park are mindblowing! People were freeclimbing on the sculptures in the park... to a high standard, too. I climbed too, at the time, but didn\'t have my shoes with me, what a bummer!

What really got me about the city, though (beside the atmosphere) were the wonderful people and... the food markets! Fish, meat, vegetables and fruit arranged beautifully in the most wonderful outdoor market... oh, I was dying!

Next time I visit the city, it\'s gotta be in an apartment with a kitchen! my mouth waters....

Yep, been to Barcelona several times. A fantastic place - one of my favourites! So much to see and do, and all inspiring.

And Montserrat is just incredible.....

@ French Kid

Thanks! I think I might be able to make that top one work out just fine, but I\'ll e-mail you and get the larger ones that you have as that will help out QUITE a bit. I appreciate you taking the trouble.

@ Everything else ...:)

You know, seeing this thread has really made me nostalgic for Europe and overseas again. I used to live in Germany for many years as a kid with a short time in France and Holland too and I just loved the atmosphere and the \'old age\' feel of everything.

Would go back in a heartbeat if I could find a way to support the family. Of course, that was years ago - might see it in a different light now that I\'m an adult with family of my own.

Let the sun shine ...

Less than two weeks ago the flu was going around, it was freezing, and it kept snowing in Lyon. But at long last the sun is back, so I thought I\'d share a bit of it with you.

Lyon is crossed by two rivers. This is one of the main squares of the \"Presque Ile\" (the land part of the delta) :
*) Place des Terreaux
The fountain actually comes from another square about 500 meters away. It was moved 15 years ago. The little dark squares are fountains.

This is the inner court hall of the art museum (also called the \"Little Louvre\"). And here is the inner court. In Spring, students come here to study before exams.

Lyon has about 40 \"trompe l\'oeil\". Here are a couple :
*) panthers
*) book store 1
*) book store 2
*) book store 3
*) book store 4

Notice how on those last two the cat is playing with the word \"souris\", i.e. : mouse ;).

Lyon also has 17 bridges :
*) a bridge over the Saône river
*) the Lafayette bridge over the Rhône river with a couple \"bâteaux mouches\". People actually live in them. Some are also restaurants or night clubs.

My Yard

Taken about 5 minutes ago. I REALLY hate snow! Its very pretty in the summer, I live next to the Long Island Pine Barrens, something like 500,000 acres of unclaimed wilderness. Well... maybe not unclaimed, after all, the Gov\'t owns EVERYTHING, don\'t they?
