Trying new things

Nice Stuff...

If thats your first attempt at NMM gold I\'d say it was very well done indeed! From the distance the photo\'s taken at it looks very realistic (like real gold). Nice work on the miniature in whole, the front photo looks a little grainy, don\'t know if its the paint or the photo...

Great work for such a long break from painting, cheers for sharing.

Thanks Jas. The grainy effect is the photo. Something else I need more practice on.

Sharing is what this site is all about isn\'t it?

Welcome back! I am in a similar situation, getting back to painting after a long hiatus. I think your gold NMM looks good, especially on the Hellbeast. In my admittedly amateur opinion :D , the barbarian could benefit from more shading/highlighting of his skin. The hellbeast\'s skin highlighting is too abrupt to me as well. The smooth transition from dark to light is so hard to do as I am finding out.

First of all, cool minis to get back into the fold with.

Great job on the NMM chain. It is a good idea to start small on that stuff.

I really like the Hell beast. The \'lava-ish\' color works well.

Thrudd is also nice, but I think more contrast in some of the flesh areas might help.

Thanks for the comments. I found the hugh amount of flesh on Thrud a challenge, and the photograph seems to have washed out the contrast on the skin. I\'ll try to make the shading a little less subtle next time.

Nice hellbeast/Sigourney Weaver.
And of course you can\'t go wrong with a classic Thrud.
Really good gems and excelent axe, though could be brought all the way to white.
