everything that is grey will become sliver/steel nmm. Everything that is that blue/grey will follow the chest armor. Work continues on the Lion Knight. I got the inside shaded, but the outside is giving me fits. Will probably try a little airbrushing to see if I can get smoother transitions. No pictures yet.

I also put a little paint on this gem from Hasslefree:

Wow, naming conventions have sunk to a new pun-itive low. :p
I really like these original works-so much character and story.. now if the major companies could just step it up!

The whole thing was spray primed black.

The skin was base coated with P3 Coal Black.
I then mixed Coal Black with some RMS Clear Purple and applied this to the shadows and undersides of things. A few layers, since the clear purple is semi-translucent.
After that was done, I went back and mixed some fresh Coal Black with GW Sotek Green and applied that to the raised areas (again a few passes, since I used glaze medium).
Then I thinned Sotek Green with Glaze Medium and applied that to the highlights, staying inside the previous color.
I mixed some Sotek Green with P3 Marrow White (and Glaze Medium) and used this as a final highlight, but even thinned it was really strong. So after I got my highlights blocked in, I had to go back with the thinned Sotek Green and smooth the transitions.

I need to do something with his chest/belly, since it's too flat. But I can't really just make the shadows darker! So maybe I lighten the whole area, like LOTR trolls or such.

I'm having so much fun with this guy. It's great to feel this motivated.

Also got some nice Scibor bases for my recent KD figures:

I can't remember the last time I had this much fun with (and was this motivated to finish) a mini. Deth is done, barring a few tweaks. I've got the base set aside, and I just need to paint Taxxis and her spellbook. Which shouldn't take long, considering it's basically all skin haha.

Ain't it great when you stumble upon a really fun one? I swear That stupid little gobo I did for fun after the charity mini is still my fav! I cannot get over how weird this mini is. I never would have thought of buying it, but you are honestly making it look really cool. Just another lesson I guess: You can't judge a mini by it's shape ;)

I agree - I bought it from Hasslefree a while back to get some freebie or other. I admit, I was in it for the boobs. But Deth has really grown on me. Taxxis is actually a secondary concern lol

Getting closer. Of course I just had a cool idea for basing, so I'm actually a bit further away now since I had additional things to paint, but it'll all work out.

And this guy - what a chore to assemble. Painting him is going to be a mixture of elation and dread. Didn't break anything during assembly though, which has to be a win.

I can understand the elation and dread, I would not be too sure where to start. Exciting mini though.

The Death and taxxis is looking great love the face of the monster. The purple ties in well.

Nicely done. Makes me want to go out and order this one! I like your color choices and the writing on the spell book is awesome.
