Yeah, You are right 10, He does seem to have a lot going on here:) Maybe he should make a thread instead of WIP, but to read "TrystanGST's Random Mini Projects" or something to that extent. :) Serious note though, yeah dont burn out on all those minis.

Well I got a grey basecoat down on Francesca's jacket and hair bows. No pics yet. Still working out the finer points of mixing the paint and isopropyl. As I get more comfortable with the airbrush, I see more and more opportunities for its use. I wish I had gotten used to it sooner!

On a more serious note - is this hobby therapeutic for anyone else? The last week and a half have been a bit rough IRL, and it's caused a fair bit of stress. And I don't stress easily. But while my Iwata is humming away and I am working on Francesca, it all goes away and I'm happy. As soon as I clean up the airbrush, reality comes back and all the stress that goes with it. Right now I wish I could just hole up and paint. If only it was that easy, eh?

Hey - they're all works in progress. Some just get more work than others!

Got the metallic brass sketched out on Vulkan. The technique I used on the Hellbrute (and Draz) helped here.

Yeah I hear ya on the painting therapy. No matter how tired I am I try to get a little in everyday just to relax. It's also instant gratification right? When you are done a session you can see what you have accomplished and hold it in your hands like: I did that. Work sometimes feels like you did nothing of merit all day, but you are still exhausted. :mad-tongue: At least, that's how it is for me - and I work in TV which is supposed to be creative, but really seems more like: HURRY UP AND WAIT!!!!!!

That's the hand/spear he came with. All I did was change the angle, since the stock location makes less than zero sense.
Had to do some brushwork on Francesca's face so I could glue the other part of the hair on. Yeah, I used the eye decals. So sue me :)

Francesca looks great! Even though the eyes are "fake" :p j/k. The pin-up looks fantastic. Great thinking with the sign and the magazine/book. Really excellent work Tryst.

Today, my P3 black decided to cooperate. Francesca gets closer each day.

Hair still needs highlights, and then it's on to the Striker units.
I've definitely learned a few things working on her.
You have to be really careful doing brushwork around an airbrushed area - matching colors to cover mistakes is HARD.
Washing the resin is a must. I know, I know - it's general good practice for minis. But one that never caused me an issue until now.
Primer is probably a good idea - it make have reduced the tendency for paint to come off under a stern glance.
Make sure you understand assembly BEFORE you start painting. I got the coat all nice, then realized that I had to cram the gun stock under her arm (which I probably should have attached after the hand and gun were glued on. See my previous point about paint coming off.
Whatever this kit is made out of, it doesn't like glue. I've used the same stuff for metal, plastic, resin, resic, etc. Never had an issue. Until this kit. Even the baking soda trick doesn't really help.
Ah well. I can take these lessons on to any future kits I do.

Tryst! Lovely work on this kit, the skin is beautiful, but i do hate you for using decals :p But honestly, it is coming along just wonderfuly, is this an e2046 kit? Because If so, i have had the same glue problem with a couple of the kits, but what I learned it was a lack of thorough washing that was causing the problem for me. Once i cleaned the crap out of the model the glue had no problem. Something to keep in mind for next time perhaps!

The Andrea figures turned out really well. I like the little scene you created. After the hellbrute, it seems like you made your way through that 80mm figure pretty fast! And the anime figure is looking good too. I keep wanting to do one of those but I need to work on my airbrushing skills first. Step one, learn how to use an airbrush. Ah, one day...

Looking great man. I have not had any problems with the glue not sticking with the E kits. I have had trouble with primer not holding. Again was a spot i missed while scrubbing. Just sand and redo the area. I Try not to glue anything together till after the piece is completely finished.

Lots of little lava rocks. At least I'm getting freehand practice. Not a whole lot left to this guy really. Mostly a few metallics, and another round or three of flame/lava (backpack halo, weapon blade, lava base).
