So there comes a time in all my minis where I get past my initial vision and down to the fiddly bits. This is inevitably where I lose some steam.
I got there with the Prowler tonight. As a result, I spent more time hemming and hawing about color choices and less time painting.
See, I initially pictured him with panther coloration and sandy/beige garments. Once I got that done, I've had to choose colors on each piece as I come to it. And of course if I want it to look good (and I do) I have to think carefully about what colors/shades to use. I can't just start grabbing random bottles. The red/gold scabbard was easy as a nice contrast to the rather drab garments. It left me in a lurch when it came to the bracers though. I didn't want to do them in the same color as the rest of the robes, but I didn't want to make them bright red like the sword either. So I've settled on a nice crimson. That takes care of one piece, but I still have the bits on his ankles, the quiver, and the various bags hanging off of his belt.
At this point, the bracers and leather straps are just base coated.
