If your looking for a good American beer you probably won\'t find many. However Vodka, Sam Adams, Everclear, and Taquila are the popular drinks around our high schools down here. Oh, and that\'s not even getting to the different flavors of moonshine.

Though a LARPing buddy of mine told me how to mix a drink he called Wyvern\'s blood, and he guarantees it\'ll restart a fire durring the \"After party\" (Waking up the next morning in a ditch about half a mile down hill from the camp site).

Aaaah, Belgian beer. Please send your national brewing manual over to the States! We could use a little lager help over here too!

Duvel - one of my top tipples! Start the day with a couple of those, and the world seems a much jollier place!!!

Hoegarden - now THERE is a fruity beer! Wonderful stuff. Don\'t like fruit in mine though.....:|~

I see you\'re in Texas now but used to be in Syracuse, home of Dew Meade - an alcoholic concoction made from Mountain Dew - once the caffeine wears off the drunk hits, toppling many a partier mid sentence.

So, now that you\'ve had a taste of Antwerp, are you also coming to Crisis 2005 at the end of the year?

Bye, Ming-Hua

Hi Ming-Hua

I always forget that you are in the Netherlands!! We are definitely hoping to go back to Antwerp and Crisis 2005 seemed like the perfect excuse :D

I met a chap called Johan at Filip\'s show, who turned out to be one of the guys from the Toy Soldiers of Antwerp club, who are the organisers for Crisis and he invited us over.

With a personal invitation like that, it would be rude not to accept. Plus we need to go out for a beer with Gerrie & Suzy and Filip and Greet ;) Maybe we can meet up with you too :D

Not to hi-jack, but this needs some clarification -

Corona and Dos Equiis are from Mexico, and Molson and Mousehead are from Canada. Last time I checked, both countries were here on the N. AMERICAN continent. Therefore they ARE American beers. :p

BTW - Corona is NOT a real brewed beer. It is a mixture of water, grain alcohal, artificial flavorings, and CO2. It is chemically manufactured, and is sold to stupid Americans who don\'t know better. My brother lived out in Cally for ten years, and many of his Mexican friends told him that the factory workers PISS in the vats, because they know it\'s going to America. I thought this was a joke, but recently was told this by someone here on the East coast that spent some time in Mexico. The person told me \"It\'s the biggest joke in Mexico, everyone knows it, they got Americans drinking AND paying for their urine\". I got this from totally seperate sources about 15 years apart, so I think I\'ll avoid Corona from now on.

Now if you want a decent United States beer, I think someone mentioned Samual Adams. They advertise that it is \"The only American Beer sold in Germany\". If true, that\'s a pretty big boast.

Me, I make my own. I got a couple of really great recipes that give me a nice aromatic brew with a slightly nutty flavor and a thick rich head. I like to use Champagne yeast, it doesn\'t really change the flavor, and it triples the alcohal content. I love watching friends drink two and wonder why they\'re trashed. lol

Sure. Unless I\'ve been shipped to another part of the planet by my work I will be there. And I expect Cindy will also be joining me. Possibly others as well.

By the way, did you get yourself one of those \"table barbeques\"? :)

Well, the first comment said there were no good beers from the USA. \"American\" was used afterward as an obvious reference to the first mention, thus was sort of qualified, though of course you are correct. Then again, that makes Peru \"American\" and I can\'t recall any Peruvian beers.

As to self brewing. Great idea, but I like to bake and you can\'t do both. The yeasts are different and they will fight each other in a vicious death match, leaving both beer and bread flat.

Actually Vince, that whole thing was tongue-in-cheek. I knew what they meant, I was just being a \'git\'. :D

I did the baking thing for awhile too, and was turning out some very delicious breads. Unfortunately, the last 5 or 6 loaves I baked didn\'t rise. I think the bread yeast found out about the beer yeast and got jealous. ???

Or more likely my local supermarket has just been getting in some s__t yeast!

No, unfortunately we didn\'t have time, but Filip may be able to bring us one over if he comes to visit for Games Day :D
