UGH - hate the taste of paint!

Sorry everyone - just needed a break from painting the den. Benjamen Moore might\'ve been a nice guy, but his paint sure tastes terrible! :|~ Of course, I get the paint on the moulding and have to lick a paper towel to get it off - unfortunately, the paper towel already had paint on it - YUCK! How do you brush-lickers do it? lol

I just want to go to the pool since it\'s not raining right now, but my mom, cousin, and two of my nephews are coming in tomorrow and I\'m trying to get this finished. At least as much as I can before Grumb gets home. Thank goodness he\'s red/green color-blind! (He says he\'s tired of green walls - maybe he won\'t notice this time!)

Well, I\'ve had some more caffeine now so I guess it\'s back to painting for me.

Ciao,
D

The mental image of you sticking an emulsion brush in your mouth to get the point back on it will stay for a while. :D

Fortunately the Acrylics don\'t taste anything like household emulsion paints. Vallejo tastes better than GW and everything tastes better than Inks.
(Excluding the coffee brewed at work today, somebright spark washed out the coffee pot and scrubbed it with CIF (jif), but didn\'t rinse it out properly. :|~ I\'m very glad I drink tea at work.)

LOL!

@MB - unfortunately, vodka also causes even more drips and smears on the moulding!

@Spacemunkie - thanks for the tip. I think it would take a long while to do the room in Vallejo\'s, though! :D

@DR - Glad I made you grin! I say fire the coffee pot cleaning jerk - of course, if he\'s the only one who ever cleans you might have to keep him (or her - don\'t want to be sexist here!).

Well, on a completely different note - if you haven\'t already, please take a look at my very first mini - 90461 - done for the Wyrd Games wereshark competition. Thnx.

Hey - I just hijacked my own thread - wheee!!! OK - maybe the fumes have gotten to me a little... :D

Ah yes...inks. I remember the first time I accidentally put a brush in my mouth when it had ink on it. Bleah!!!

And if you hijack your own thread Red, is it really a hijack? Or is it a diversion? :D

Painting happily away with my paints, brushes, and rinse water........Boy, I\'m thirsty. Without paying attention picked up the trusty glass of rinse water and took a good swig. Mmmmmm

I do a lot of housepainting for a living (did some today, in fact); here are some tips...

If you give your guests Vodka too, NO ONE will notice the paint on the trim. ;)

Change all the bulbs in the house to 40Watt, 25 if you\'re really bad.

Prime using a product called BINS Primer-Sealer by Zinsser. It won\'t make your paintjob look any better, but the fumes will make it so you don\'t care.

Housepaint taste like crap because it has additives that artist\'s paint doesn\'t, like MILDECIDE. You really don\'t want to drink too much of that!

If you paint EVERYTHING red and green then your house will look like Christmas all year round. ;)

Now get back to work, YOU! (I wish my wife would help around the house) :(

coat d\'arms is an old-schooooool taste. When acrylics were luverly :D

Most suggestions in painting tutorials say use clean water to celan the brushes and blend. Alternatively, make a new-fangled wet palette so you won\'t need to taste anything lol

It\'s the extenders that taste bad :|~

I reckon Vallejo has extender in it.

Sweet! It\'ll still arrive too early for me to be able to do anything with it, but I always like getting stuff in the mail. :)

Absinthe makes an excellent mouthwash, I think. Much like the vodka, you stop worrying about anything...the smell of your breath, the way people look at you, why there are strange purple things crawling on the walls...
