UK Mini painting organisation

we\'ve all got to remember we live in the United Kingdom and whilst the Union Jack may not represent Welsh colours it does represent britian and her commonwealth allies as a whole, its the most recognisably british thing we have.

As for the t-shirts, id say leave em white print the Platoon Britannia logo on them and leave it like that, hell, if people are willing to lob the money in id say customise them. Print names on the back with numbers (like footy shirts) with a shortened name underneath the logo on the front and lob their nations flag on the sleves, then every can represent the country they belong too...

if you want a shirt for the purposes of being recognised that won\'t get grubby after a few events then go with black.
white wrighting on it with the persons \"handle\" for recognition.

i personaly don\'t think countries should be brought into it as it just helps to put barriers up within this comunity.

if people are getting together to share knowledge that\'s cool and i\'m in.
if people are just wanting to run around shouting yay such a country won a resin trophy then i\'m out.

i cant see anyone doin that (and if they do we can just set the zulus on em), i think it be cool to show the diversity in the team though, even if its just the 3 lions, the thistle, shamrock or the dragon...

I can kind of see your point Generul but I suggested red, white and blue because the logo of Platoon Britannica IS a dirty great Union Jack with two paintbrushes incorporated into it. It\'s also meant to be an organisation to promote the improvement of painting standards in the UK across the board, not just to win competitions like most of the other countrys teams seem to be.

I only really posted it as a joke, a red, white and blue shirt would look crap and at least part of the logo would get lost on it. Black with the persons name or handle on the back would be really cool that way when you are wandering round an at event you can spot people you\'ve only met on the forums and wouldn\'t know by sight.

Or possibly give you advanced warning...

\"Shit! It\'s Undave! Everybody scarper!\" lol

although the logo would be harder to see with a black tshirt and plus were not the all blacks...

we should at least put the logo and our handles on them...

Although it would be really weird if Roger Bunting WAS your handle and your real name was something else entirely.

Hi all!

Sorry, been manic with work the last month or so and haven\'t caught up on this thread in a while!

We did indeed make up some t-shirts for Salute... which a few of us were wearing to promote the organisation... we have about 15 left in various sizes.

I\'m afraid they are indeed white with the red and blue logo on the front... I\'ll dig out a pic.

It\'d be quite hard to have individual shirts printed for every member with their name on it.... and to print a red white and blue logo... without going to multi-layer printing where a coloured shirt is used and then a white \'undercoat\' layer is screen printed on first (which\'d double the price), white really is the easiest colour to print on.

We\'re open to suggestions though!!! :)

So... what\'s the plan at present... are folks still interested in a \'organised\' social, if so is the evening of the event itself (the Saturday) or the night before (the Friday) the best bet?

Cheers all, really looking forward to this now!!! Looks like it\'s going to be an awesome event!

Ben
