The bloke in blue is demonherald who I had a drink with along with darklord before they gave me a lift to the station. Some good tips were given and amusing stories of their kids.

I\'m still recovering, I must have talked for ages and my throat feels raw.
It was a great day and despite the fact that I am seriously a lover of warmth, Warhammer World was seriously and stupidly Hot!
After I disappeared for a bite to eat in Bugmans (two pints of Coke in 15 Minutes) when we came back in it was like hitting a solid wall.

Anyhow To those people I missed saying Hi and Hello to, my apologies.
To the people I did speak to absolutely great to meet you, and in some cases to meet you again.
(SH2009 must have sprouted a good 10 inches in height since I met him last year. :D) {Oh crud I feel old}

Squig Hunter surprised the blazes out of us all by being a \"Sprog\" cos everyone seems to have expected him to be around 20+. His 15mm Sculpts are superb.
But his IMPISH smile and ability to appear beside you out of nowhere made me think where I\'d seen him before.
I\'ve racked my brains for most of last night and finally:-

lol
(Oh I\'m gonna get so much grief for that).

To the organisers of Platoon Britannica; a debt of gratitude gentlemen that was a Class Day!

The only sour note was one of the Warhammer World shop staff, but that was redeemed by the helpfulness and honest pleasentness of one of the other people in the shop helping to resolve a problem.
The Bugmans staff deserve an \"Honourable mention\" for
A: Fast service
B: Friendly attitude.

I had no problems with the shop staff myself. As for the bar staff, when Undave and I went to have lunch I got my knife and fork (along with my change) brought to me at the table. Undave didn\'t. Obviously I was more special than he was. lol

AmazonWarrior (Sitting with Mike, sorry i stole your seat for 5 mins)

I was really annoyed with myself aswell,

Having sorted out a small selection of my figures to take and display, i then decided to get drunk the night before and completly forget them !!!

All the work i saw was astounding some really nice pieces, was good to actually be able to handle some of them aswell,

Mike, you really need to post a WIP on your Marble rock, (you know the one made from Cork :))

I hope to meet up with all of you at GD, i will wear a t-shirt with my name on it this time tho :)

Cheers,

Next time I\'m planning to do a proper Demo set on Rocks with Water soluble oils.

Thanks to everyone who came, the support was fantastic guys :D

We were nervous about how it would go. But we were really happy with the turn out and blown away by the miniatures on display, it was really good to see people enjoying the day. Loads of positive comments, a few things we can work on. We will be have a de-brief at some point this week, and talk with WW to try and organise another meeting soon. We will release some info on the informal meeting at Games Day this year in the next couple of weeks.

I\'d like to thank the Warhammer World staff for helping get this running, they have been fantastic!!!! Also to all those that attended - thanks we couldn\'t have done this without you and those that wanted to attend - next time be there. ;)

I also want to say that it was great to meet you guys. I managed to have a good chat with several people- if I looked a little star-struck, that\'s because I was! I\'ve gained inspiration from so many of the people that were there, and it was fantastic to see them and their minis up close!

Thanks Platoon Britannia, and I hope to come to many more of these events! :)

for me its slightly expensive to get to WW, maby try some thing a little more south, say london, thats easy to get to, i\'ve only been to WW three times, and it took two year no pocket money to pay back..:(

@Nick- We found that booking train tickets from London to Nottingham well in advance was really affordable. I recommend looking into it if you know that there\'s something you want to go to in the future. It does mean that you have to be strict about catching your trains, but that shouldn\'t be a major problem.

but theres the ticket to london, from where i live which is around 20 quid, then theres the ticket to nottingham, which when i looked at it in April was about 25quid, then theres my dad aswell, it all adds up...

if it was like GD when there are coaches going there that would be alright, but its far too expensive for me:(

Ta for all the kind words, won\'t be on for much in the next few weeks for I am moving to Edinburgh, in fact I am on the train now and the container comes tommorow. :D

The Event was brilliant, great fun to meet all the people and have a chat. And the standard of painting was incredibly high.
Even Dragonsreach, although he and his mustache scare me, I am utterly conviced that it is sentient and leads a life of it\'s own. Dammit Mike I like my fingers! And the sculptors from the other table murmouring that they\'d have to bump me off before I stole their jobs.

All in all, brilliant day, fun meeting the people, managed to keep my fingers intact :D And looking forwards to GD and next years Platoon Brittanica, which I do rather hope will be done on a saturday though, as the early closing times for the shop and bugmans caused some complications.

Ta to the organisers,
Squig

P.S I am rather suprised at everyones suprise, since I believe, I already posted a picture two years ago in one of the PYP threads. Then again, you old codgers wouldn\'t remember that far back :p

*Edit* P.P.S Mike (Dragonsreach) you git!

:p
