OK so the dead line was today and the so called judging has taken place by the in store experts...

Who entered and how did you get on???

I was going to but couldn\'t be bothered to face the fan boy stink at the end of the day, so come on tell us how you got on and show your entries :D

I actually ended up helping to judge in my store.....they don\'t have a manager and only 1 permanent member of staff so he were up against it.

Turnout for the Veterans was low, but some nice entries, but loads from the youngbloods, so that was very encouraging!

I haven\'t been into the Cardiff Store for a while so don\'t know what the entry situation was there but when I nipped into the Portsmouth Store the other week they had a level of the rotating cabinet full of entries and some of them looked quite nice.

I haven\'t done anything GW for a while and I guess I really should pull my finger out and make an effort for the Platoon Britannica event so I can show off a few new paint jobs.

I entered my Eldar Ranger into the contest in Truro. I won single figure and best of show. I won a plastic toy axe...

Some great stuff in the contest including entries from CornishMikey and Mudski (who both did very well also).

I see they went to town on the prizes then lol The way it was advertised on GW\'s site and in WD I thought they would have at least something game/paint related as prizes or am I missing something :D

I entered the dwarf I did for the CMON unite comp at the Maidstone GW and won the single figure category with him.

As for prizes, the manager didn\'t have any allocated, so decided to give the winners a set of the new washes which was cool.

I entered the single figure category in the Cov store but as my warboss was so big OrkyDave moved it into the monster category and it won that instead :D

There were some very nice entries all round which rather surprised me to be honest. The overall quality of the minis I usualy see in the store (bar the staff painted ones) tends to be on the low end of tabletop standard but this competition must have drawn all the decent painters out of the woodwork.

When prizes got mentioned I was kind of hoping for a set of washes myself but I got a Kal Jerico novel called Lasgun Wedding which I\'m quite happy with.

I think this has been a really good idea on GW\'s part. Granted it could have been better organised with standard prizes and more info available on the website but it got people (myself included) to try things that they hadn\'t attempted before. For instance one of the kids in the youngbloods category had made an attempt at doing some OSL from a Necron Gaus gun.

I hope this wasn\'t just a one off and they do something similar in the future.

Never heard anything about a regional final after the store comps.

I hope this doesn\'t mean GW are thinking of going back to a store based GD and sending peoples entries off across the country like they used to do. I think this would kill it completely for me as it would prove the point that they do not listen to people.

not sure if its just our region (north east) doing it or not. i know our store manager has been after a region wide one for a while so maybe it is just us

Nick if they are having a regional shoot out then ask the store manager and he should know where.

It seems that anything after yesterdays judging is adhoc to say the least.

See this is what I mean about getting better organisation. None of the guys in the store were very clear on what happens next. The theory was that they\'d all go into the regional finals and then the national finals. Whether the entries were supposed to go up to Warhammer World with our manager for the next managers meeting (he\'s dreading the responsibility of carting other peoples minis up there on the train) or whether the regional boss was going to tour the stores and pick winners is anyones guess.

I\'m kind of hoping Krood doesn\'t have to travel anywhere for a long time because I can\'t use my Ork army without him lol
