It\'s in WIP because it\'s just that!

Shoulder pads aren\'t on yet, and I haven\'t even begun doing liturgies and symbols.

Get the basics done first and then the little bits :D
:( Didn\'t mean to rush you on the head...just the hole there didn\'t look right.

I much prefer minis that are assembled after painting that gets all the nooks and crannies done with exceptional detail like this. Wish most of mine weren\'t pre-assembled so I could do this with them.

Those basics can set the whole mini apart from being \"Another Mini\" and \"WOW!\" and you are well on your way to WOW, so don\'t rush into it no matter what anyone says!

I for one like minis that make me start to like a bad looking chapter. (Maybe just the ultramarines are too blue for me, but you broke it up quite nicely!)

I don\'t want to wait for more little bits, but I will. :p

:)

I know. I find it equally frustrating watching wonderful stuff in WIP form (I believe Giganticdark\'s Marine takes 1st place for being most eagerly anticipated!).

The majority of the head needed to be done off the body though, and I only like to start a head when I\'m well into the painting session!

Anyhoo, shoulder-pads are on, and I\'ll hopefully have \'em painted up today!

Great stuff Joek, i think the face sets the standard of this model. The marine is looking like imo top eavy metal standard. I love the cleanliness and crispness to your painting.

I really love the brass accent work on this model. Can\'t wait to see those shoulder pads! They should really make the color scheme pop.

Well, I hope so...These are the final WIP shots, unless someone has some other suggestions :D . I\'m nearing the point where I\'ve got a few things left to do with it, but I\'m getting happy enough to want to stop and think about the next thing.

The shoulder pads were a little on the experimental side - Like Jericho said, I wanted to add the white, and one of the shoulder pads seemed like the best option all \'round. I think it works okay...?

it has to be said, while first being boring, and missing a clear focal point, the addition of the shoulder pads and the freehand detailing has raised it\'s potential by at least two marks.

way to go, keep at it

Think it\'s done now. Certainly enough to put down the brush and be happy enough with it. Had a final tinker with the base, and just a small tidy up on some of the armour, but yeah...

Holy crap, how did I miss this thing getting finished!

And it is already sold on eBay even.

Makes me want you to paint this Ultramarines standard bearer I have from the skullz promotion.

That is not one to be scoffed at like other Ultramarines minis I have seen, and does better than most of the Ultramarine schemed minis.

In a word to what this is .... NICE!

Good job on getting it sold already! It was fun watching him go through his stages.

 Oh crap! I just now noticed there be skulls on that base! Glad I hadn\'t voted yet, so... My first 10 vote given to an Ultramarines mini!
