Nah Pestie you were right. the four horseman are War, Famine, Pestilence and Death.

Come on you guys I thought you would at least have checked google.

I didn\'t check google, I checked the bible, which I think is a lot more reliable than google considering that it is, you know, the actual source.

Original Source - we\'re talking about a book thats been translated so many times that the first writings were in cuneform, right - and changed every time that it was translated - for all we know its the 4 Horsemen - John, Paul, George, and Ringo.lol

Amen steelcult ;). In that link I posted, they state 3 or 4 versions of the horsemen ... all biblical, but it depends on what edition you\'re refering to.

First off, it was penned in Greek. And second, modern conspiracy theorists and common citizens all know it\'s Bush, Blair, Bin Laden and Bob Mugabe. :p

Who is Binky? Is that a sidekick of Buffy\'s. ???

Revelation 6:2

King James version:

Revelation 6
1And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

2And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

3And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

4And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

5And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

6And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

7And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

8And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

New International Version: (my favorite)
1I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, \"Come!\" 2I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.
3When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, \"Come!\" 4Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.

5When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, \"Come!\" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, \"A quart[a] of wheat for a day\'s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day\'s wages,[c] and do not damage the oil and the wine!\"

7When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, \"Come!\" 8I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Commentaries on the passage:
The question is whether they refers specifically to Death and Hades or to the whole series of four now being concluded. Clearly the sword is an apt characterization of the second rider (see v. 4) as famine is of the third. What then is the new terror brought by the fourth rider? Not killing as such, for that was intimated already in connection with the second (v. 4). Rather, Death is linked to plague (or \"pestilence,\" NRSV), just as in the message to Thyatira (see note above on 2:23). So close is the connection that within one verse (v. 8) the same Greek word (thanatos) is translated both as Death and as plague. The fourth rider adds to the first three the awful prospect of disease, as well as the bearers of disease and desolation, the wild beasts of the earth. In effect, the statement that they were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague summarizes the activities of the second, third and fourth riders, not merely the fourth.

The world according to Mavel

The original four horsemen of Apocalypse were:

1) the Morlock known as Plague
2) Abraham Lincoln Kieros - a war vet.
3) Autumn Rolfson - an anorexic girl.
4) Warren Worthington or Angel of the Xmen.

Or if you ask WCW the original four horsemen are:
1) Rick Flair
2) Arn Anderson
3) Ole Anderson
4) Tully Blanchard

Actually, Binky is Death\'s Horse on the Discworld.

And since the original stories came from this region of the world when the Jews were dispersed the first time, there\'s a good chance of cuneform.

Ugh... should\'ve known. I\'m not too mad about Terry Pratchett, but I should\'ve recalled Binky.

From Daniel yes, but the quotes here have been from Revelations.

True - but the reference was also to the Bible in general, and that was where I was going.
