Kev mate, It\'s Mick22 that\'s after the stuff.
I\'m just stitching Liz up to have a huge excess baggage cost.lollollol

As it is she\'s gonna have some lead to take back she doesn\'t expect.

And if she had a layover here in Orlando, she\'d have more lead to take with her....

Once you have that nice super smooth alcohol metallic finish what is the best way to apply shading etc to it? I have only tried acrylics which seem to want to roll off of it like water on the proverbial duck\'s back and it is an absolute cow getting that first layer down for the rest to grab onto.

sorry, just remembered about this

yeah, I guess
It\'s just gonna be fitted directly to the chamber. Don\'t get it if it\'s a silly(excessive) amount of money tho,
and thanks for going to the trouble for me

I used VMC smoke on the stormvermin bust, without any problems. You could try artists inks or a light varnish if you are still having probs

Couple of options; try Artists Tube acrylics or Water Soluble Oils. Test on a non critical mini first.
Artists Acrylics being thicker you\'ll need to apply carefully and thin \'in situ\' possibly wiping away excess with the old \"Q\"tip.
Water soluble oils, well you\'ll be in Lollipop Experiment Mode. Suck it and see.

sorry for sort off hijacking this thread, but this might be usegell.

i\'ve painted a mini using Valejo alcohol metallics (the bronze) and after some time, the paint started losing it\'s luster, it went white-ish, and matt.

has anybody else had this problem, is it just oxidation, and what can you do to prevent this?

Well out of curiosity I went and dug out a couple of minis I painted with the vallejo alcohol base metallics (vabm for short from here on out heh) a couple of years ago just to check to see if mine had done something like that and they\'re fine like the day I applied them.

Considering the minis, like myself, do not see any sort of sunlight or rough handling they\'ve, as expected, held up rather well. Maybe 4 or 5 years old by now I\'d reckon. No special treatment or sealants used. Just applied like any other metallic paint at the time. From the bottle, onto the mini.

To be fair, the two colors in question are not Bronze as per the paint you noticed the bad stuff happening to but Silver and Gold. Could be an issue specific with that color, couldn\'t say if that be the case as I\'ve not used the bronze variety.
