My latest miniature... One by andrea miniatures, Volgor the skull eater.
The beast is huge. I didn\'t know how to hold it when painting it. It\'s betwenn 70mm and 90mm high, and it\'s a full ton on the scale.
As for the painting itself, I\'m quite happy with it, a copy/paste of the description I put up for the colours:
I didn\'t want a green orc, so I decided to go for a redder look... Hence this purplish looking skin, based on dark prussian blue (Vallejo), scab red, blood red, blazing orange, golden yellow (GW), white.
Leather was mostly painted using red leather, yellow ochre, irakii sand, drak prussian blue (Vallejo) and white.
Metallics are painted unsing boltgun metal, mithril silver (GW), black, and Humbrol enamel metalcote 27001.
For the skulls, bleached bone, schorched brown (GW), dark prussian blue, white.
Horns: similar to leather, but shaded with scorched brown, and black, and not dark prussian blue.
The most annoying thing is I think the base. I don\'t like sculpted bases, sold with the miniature. And there I had no choice but to use it, so I tried to make it the most discreet I could. The rock was painted red.. I had seen a photo of monument valley just before starting the base
.
Hmmm... I didn\'t put up the colours used for this, it was red leather + mix of scorched brown/black/dark prussian blue + irakii sand + white.
I rarely drybrush, even rocks, but this was very fit for it.
I\'d say that\'s all... Thanks for reading me
