My latest miniature... One by andrea miniatures, Volgor the skull eater.

The beast is huge. I didn\'t know how to hold it when painting it. It\'s betwenn 70mm and 90mm high, and it\'s a full ton on the scale.
As for the painting itself, I\'m quite happy with it, a copy/paste of the description I put up for the colours:

I didn\'t want a green orc, so I decided to go for a redder look... Hence this purplish looking skin, based on dark prussian blue (Vallejo), scab red, blood red, blazing orange, golden yellow (GW), white.
Leather was mostly painted using red leather, yellow ochre, irakii sand, drak prussian blue (Vallejo) and white.
Metallics are painted unsing boltgun metal, mithril silver (GW), black, and Humbrol enamel metalcote 27001.
For the skulls, bleached bone, schorched brown (GW), dark prussian blue, white.
Horns: similar to leather, but shaded with scorched brown, and black, and not dark prussian blue.

The most annoying thing is I think the base. I don\'t like sculpted bases, sold with the miniature. And there I had no choice but to use it, so I tried to make it the most discreet I could. The rock was painted red.. I had seen a photo of monument valley just before starting the base :).
Hmmm... I didn\'t put up the colours used for this, it was red leather + mix of scorched brown/black/dark prussian blue + irakii sand + white.
I rarely drybrush, even rocks, but this was very fit for it.

I\'d say that\'s all... Thanks for reading me :).

@Sister123
I use an airbrush when I undercoat my miniatures (first black, then grey and white from the direction the light is supposed to come from). This time, the mini being so big, I also airbrushed dark prussian blue and did the basics of the skin with the airbrush (the purple tone).
There nonetheless was quite a need for touching up with a brush, as I\'m really far from having mastered that tool, and I needed to do all the highlites from a light purple tone to white with the brush. (e.g. belly, upper half of the arm, chest).
Then I also glazed the skin with yellow/orange, partly in order to better the blendings, partly to give a more complex look to the skin.

Many thanks!

I personally find the back of this miniature a bit... Boring, it\'s only the big furry cape. But I\'ll try to put up a pic of it, as soon as I take the time to shoot it.
:D

Amazing work there.
Really love the skin color, makes for a nice change.
The shield seems a bit flat, but that\'s just because I\'m trying to be picky. Not a fan of the base but considering you didn\'t have much of a choice can\'t really blame you for that ;) Cheers.

Wicked smoothness and nice use of colours. I agree with frenchkid about the shield though but even at that...

Impressive.

This is just great! :D I like this one a lot! I\'m really impressed by the skin on it, both the colour and the smoothness.

Thanks for the nice words :).
You\'re most right on the shield though, it looks a bit flat. I didn\'t add enough texture to it. I\'ll see if I feel like touching it up, I\'m not sure of it.
