Yes, it is made up. But there are still a way to say it. If I make up a word and you don\'t say it, you\'re not saying the same word. There are rules to these things.

Leman Russ, I think I\'d also say Layman Russ. It\'s how it\'s pronounced in the game Dawn of War and it sounds good.

But I have always read it as Zeen-tek, like Becca\'s dad; must be a DM thing.

I was playing a game with a good friend of mine in High School who was captain of the chess club and the uber-genius sort. It was the old SPI LotR counter game and he was playing Sauron\'s forces. He stated he was going to attack me with his Dwarven Slave \'Pal-N-ecksess\'. I was like \"what? Do you mean Phalanxes?\". He repeated his pronunciation, and I told him it was pronounced \'Fay-lancks-es\'. He was so distraught about being wrong (finally) about something that he asked EVERY history teacher in school on Monday. Since I was usually the one who was wrong when we argued I felt quite pleased with myself. he was upset about it for weeks. lol

Hah, go you, Senor Tay. I generally pronounce it \"leMAN RUSS\", accent on the captials. As for Tyranids, the word is presumably derived from \"tyrant\", no? So I pronounce it the same way, \"TEER-a-nids\".

EDIT: Just realized that doesn\'t make any sense. But I do pronounce it as spelt.
