Sit down, it\'s a long story:
When the Portugese first settled the area of Brzail, they brought many african slaves with them. Around the early 1800\'s many slaves had escaped to the wilderness but were in danger of being captured or killed by an army of settlers. Having no firearms of any kind, they devised a way of using their own hands and feet to disarm oppents which was derived from thier ancient dance rituals. The area they made their stand was called Capoeria, and after they defeated the army, this is what the fighting art is known as.
Basically, Capoeria can be called Ninja Break Dancing, but though it is a martial art, it is Brazilian in origin, and not Oriental. Most poses in Capoeria look as though the individual is defying gravity by way of acrobatics. The moves confuse the enemy because they look similiar to each other, and the stance is a dance and not standing in a certain postion. When resaerching this, I thought it was great for Harlequins, as well as any dynamic pose for any game, simply by adding swords or pistols.
