Weapon Plattform - need feedback

WIP - need feedback and suggestions

Hiho.

I'm nearly done with the basic "interior" of a semi classic Eldar Weapon Plattform and since multiple people told me that my blue "blacklinings" aren't extreme enough on my old minis, I tried to get it a bit darker and smoother this time. The foto seams a bit too bright compared to the original I would say, the tiny dark blue lines aren't visible at all, but that's basically the impression of it. What do you think, is that acceptable or what would you do different?

The unfinished parts ... there are still white/blue areas to do, to finish the gems and to do the freehands... so nothing to discuss about those ;)

Blending looks lovely to me. When the jewels get finished out, it should be impressive.

cheers

I think the blue lining looks great.

Like Nix said: once the jewels are done this should look really sweet.

That glowing blue-lined white is lovely! Great job on that, impressive work considering it's "only" the interior of that platform and will be somewhat covered by the gun!

Thanks. So seams its fine this time :)

@cassar:
Well, I got a normal blue for the very inner lines and then Ice Blue, White and 2 mixed tones between that. Combined with wet blending it gives that result. Basically I work from dark to white, layer by layer up.

The blending on the green is looking very nice and the offset of white to blue on the interior is definately pooping out at the viewer... I must ask will the weapon part of the model obscure the actual interior part or will there still be sections sthat are visible.

There will be everything visible, just some parts won't be visible that easy. However, the weapon is planned similar and the back of the weapon shield (which points upwards) will be painted with same blue/white. I'll keep you informed. ;)

@funnymouth:
My other works (except the Vyper are more than 6-8 years old, the photos are mostly made in 2004). I am aware that most of the photos on my gallery don't match my current painting quality or maybe... they had been painted with more rush and less love to details (and lack of practice).
However, I'm interested in what exactly you mean, so that I maybe can work on it.

About the gems-questions:
I am not even sure yet what color I will paint them. Normally I prefer blue ones, but the model has already enough of blue, so that red would probably give a nice contrast. Any ideas or proposals?

Well, I'm a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slow painter and normally I paint 15+ minis at "the same" time... meaning I work a bit here and then a bit there and so on... I try to focus this time though.
Green gems is out of questions because of the green base color. Purple was in my mind and I'm thinking of it... still a hard decision to take.

Just looking very fine. Maybe you should stay with the blue/white - green shades for all the mini. Dark Blue with light blue/white highlights gems? Red would come out also quite well ... but I give it a try.

cheers

DaMatze + thx for reply to my white-post (How-to-paint-and-shade-WHITE)
