What a drag it is getting old.

This conversation took place between me and my wife who is six years younger than me. The other day I was singing a song.

“What are you singing?” my wife asked.

“The Cowboy Song by Thin Lizzy.” I replied amazed that she didn’t know the song.

“Who is Thin Lizzy?” she asked.

Later that night my wife and I were having dinner with some of her friends. I asked if any of them knew who Thin Lizzy was. There was silence. Then I sang “the Boys are back in Town”. They finally knew what I was talking about.

Am I really that old?

And in case you young ‘uns don’t know who Thin Lizzy is:

the Cowboy Song

the Boys are back in Town

Now go and impress your parents. lol

And \'What a drag it is getting old\' is a line from Mothers Little Helper by The Rolling Stones, pioneers of Dad Rock!

I hadn\'t heard that song in years. :)

There\'s a Thin Lizzy song on Guitar Hero 2 (Bad Reputation.) I\'m afraid that\'s probably the only way lots of young\'uns would recognize them.

Nice! I was wondering who would get it first.

I realized I am old, when some months ago I searched my car radio for a nice radio station. Finally I found one with \"good\" music. After some minutes the radio dj told me:
\"Willkommen beim RTL-Oldie-Sender!\"
(welcome to oldie-radio-station...\"!)

Eh, don\'t worry about it. In life, there are only two choices: grow older or die.

You chose correctly. :D

In the 1980\'s we called songs from the 1960\'s \"oldies.\" Those songs are still called oldies 20+ years later, and the contemporary rock from the 1970\'s and 1980\'s is called \"classic rock.\" It\'s all about the labels.

I wonder what music from the 90\'s or 00\'s will be called in 2020?

Same thing its called today - Crap.

Course, I\'m 10 years older than my girlfriend - that makes for all kinds of fun exchanges - like - \"Um, honey, I was 4 when Empire Strikes Back came out, so no I didnt see it in the initial release\"lol

I think I can understand. My wife\'s mother didn\'t allow her kids to watch Saturday morning cartoons when they were kids. they could only watch disney animation. Saturday morning cartoons made children violent (which is funny because my wife has a bot of a temeper and its takes alot to get me pissed off.).

One day I said \" I will do it with my spear and magic helmet!\" She was completely lost.

She had no idea what I was talking about.

I hate getting old too, I\'m having a severe problem dealing with;
Going grey
Body drooping lol
No nice girls giving me the eye
No freedom,
And a life that has not much too look forward too, being almost bankrupt,
And its still raining
Other than that I\'m really having a blast :D I remember Thin Lizzy though lol
My wifes 9 years younger than me, and whisky in the jar was there best one:D

I\'m not sure I want to know what you\'re talking about but you may have supplied Lizcam with a new quote. :D

Its a line from the classic Oscar winning cartoon \"What\'s Opera Doc\" - in which Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd do Wagner\'s entire Ring Cycle in like 6 minutes.
