What Did You Paint Today?

Not a darned thing...

Didn\'t get home from work until 9:00 PM so I didn\'t get to paint at all. I was working on a mini from Mr. Buddle, but I guess it will have to wait for another day. :(

Cheers,
Grumb

I`ve been painting kelt warrior for my own confrontation warband. Still haven`t finished the mini though...

I find the GW sculpting tool makes a pretty good nail scraper as well. I\'m always trying to get the grundge out of my nails after cleaning my brushes. Bad habit of using my thumbnail to scrape the crud out of the bristles.

Aha. Thanks, Dragonsreach, I\'ll try that. At the end of the day, though. Decided to take a day off today and do some converting. So there is lot more to be greenstuffed :)

Just spent an hour painting the 2 swords, but I\'m pretty happy with how they\'ve come out.

Am I boring anyone yet? My girlfriend is away so I\'ve no-one to wave my minis at whilst I\'m painting, so I\'m bugging you lot instead :D

Well... Yesterday I spent about 3 hours blocking in all of the blue on 11 Space Marines... today I spent another 2 hours going back with black to tidy everything up, and did my secondary color, mithril silver, for the trim.

Next I need to start highlighting the blue. But, I\'m not sure how I want to go about it... See, I usually eyeball all of my ratios, so i don\'t have a specific recipe for the various layers of highlights... and I know my paint will dry on the pallete before I get through all 11 Marines.

I suppose it\'s time to start writing down my layer recipes -_-...

The fact that I have mixed GW and Vallejo bottles doesn\'t help...

\"One drop Ultramarines Blue mixed with *checks*... half a brush full of white... okaaay...\"

*sighs* I\'m also torn on how much time I should be spending on these figures, since they ARE my gaming army (my only army, for that matter..). I want them to look nice, but I don\'t want to spend abunch of time on them, only to see them get scratched up from playing.

Not to mention the number of \"oh, they\'re basic tabletop quality\" comments I have gotten... kinda depresses me. I even had one person comment that it looked like I drybrushed my highlights. DRYBRUSHED! :flame: I wanted to say \"That\'s 5 layers of highlights, bub!\" but I just calmed myself and walked away..

sorry...

/end rant

Poor Gabe...that\'s why I use the handy dandy GW colour chart. Just get some enchanted blue, (which is the highlight for ultramarines) and you\'re set. If\'n you wanna go further, I think the next one might be ice blue or lightning blue (not sure exactly)

Hello again ev\'rybody!

Well, I\'m still working away on that assassin. I\'ve got his backpack pretty much done, and I did some of the detailing today as well. I hope to have him finished by this weekend, and then I can get started on something else, or go back to three SoB that I decided to try to paint together in a batch.

Cheers y\'all!

Yesterday I painted the Oracle of Danu, starting at 13:00 and ending at 17:00, not including varnishing. Then my friend tried to fit it in the blister again and broke off the arm. Now I have it back to reattach the arm. I shouldn\'t complain, it netted a good meal for sakura ;)

Today is my father\'s birthday, so not much painting, I presume. However, he DOES come home only at 16:00 or so.... I think I\'ll paint Vargas Metatron a little.

Still doing that Slaaneshy thing. Finished the NMM gold, damn I hate NMM, not happy with it at all, grumble grumble.

Only the gems, eyes and teeth and base to do and he\'s finished, YAY! :flip:

Should be able to do that tonight.

@ Gabe

I would mix up the colours you want in spare pots, saves a lot of effort getting the mix right.

Hmmmmmmm......

I was just wondering... If Tooshy painted her nails today, does that mean that nailpainter should paint her... well, never mind. Silly thought anyways
