What Did You Paint Today?

I\'m pretty close to Bondi, don\'t go often though, its always too crowded.

I actually had quite a productive day, sat and fast fowarded through ROTK and I now know what my LOTR battle scene entry will be (presuming I find the time to actually do it!).

I also was digging through my minis and came across my half self sculpted nurgle choas spawn, just right for something to paint that didn\'t require much concentration, I\'ve just finished him and he looks suitably gross :flip:

thanks guys. Looking at it again today, I guess it\'s not THAT bad, atleast for TT play.. my biggest problem with black armor is that I can never get the grey highlights smooth and straight.

I suppose drinking 2 cups of coffee and 2 liters of coke a day doesn\'t help, ne?

Oh well... I may go back with some black and try to tidy things up abit. oh, and I don\'t have the decals for my army logo yet, so thats why the shoulders are blank

I\'m very glad I didn\'t choose black templars as my army.. all of that black armor would make me insane.

I just patched up the last bit of the new mansion I am sending off tommorow. I bought the parts for a new \"citadel\" yesterday and will start construction sometime soon- and now I know you folks will be lookin\' I\'ll have to actually pay attention

But I did finally get my closet cleaned out where I\'m going to set up a permanent area for my paints.

Now I need some shelves and a chair.

I *finally* started a new piece, an alien bounty hunter/action hero type from Ground Zero Games. Should be a quick paint job, and he\'ll look cool when he\'s done. I am... uninspired about basing though. My last three entries have suffered from a lack of basing enthusiasm, I\'m afraid.

What do you think? I was going for black claws and teeth since the body is white (so that they will stand out more), but maybe that becomes dull? I guess when the model is based and all, you will at least see the claws better than now, but I\'m always willing to listen to suggestions.

That carnosaur looks great, lovely colours. Black is just right for the teeth/claws.

i don\'t know about the black teeth...It seems to work for the claws, but I wonder if it will make the teeth look undone....

Of course, just look at the rest of it....I doubt anything will look undone! Great stuff...

I painted on Saturday at the DC Minipainters meeting. Got a squad detailed for the Trinoc*coN this coming weekend in Durham, NC.

On Sunday, I rebuilt my PC so I could get back online. Must report success with that mission.

I am pretty unhappy with his axe. I am likely to sand off the paint on the blade tonight and make it more colored and glowing like a power weapon. I originally was going to do NMM, decided against it after applying paint, then did metallics, used too much paint over already existing paint, and just am not happy with it. The paint is so large that it brings the rest of the figure down IMHO. I know I can do power blade colors well, so I figure I should try again with that in mind.

But I am really happy with the armor on him. And he is almost done!

On a related note, am I the only person in the world that paints the faces last? ???

@ Astonia Maybe try doing a very subtle white highlight on the tips of the teeth, it will keep them \"black\" but make them look more teeth like.

I\'ve made a start on the carnosaur for one of my GD entries. I just hope 3 months is long enough to finish him

I\'m still chuggin\' through my tactical marines.. I\'ve decided to lower the number of highlights on the standard RAF bolter marines from 6 to 2 or 3, while I reserve my commanders and more unique figures to get the full detail treatment of 6 layers, to make them really stand out.

I just recieved my paints, so I\'m happily working on my WH Henchwoman...

Steve, I got Grogathog! Feckin\' big model, by the way. Unfortunately, I don\'t have superglue, so I\'m gonna wait till I go into Victoria to buy some...and Foundry really sucks with their bases, or lack thereof.
