What Did You Paint Today?

No painting today

The GM is having the D&D game at his house now, and has banned painting at the gaming table. Not enough room, he says. Sigh. Grumble. So no painting today for me, since when I get off work I\'m going straight there.

Last night I was working on Shania from Adiken. She was part of my prize for third place in the Adiken painting contest at Origins.

Honestly, I\'ve hardly picked up a brush this week. In the last six weeks, I\'ve slapped paint on six or seven dozen figs, taught a couple dozen demos and attended two conventions. I\'m just a tad fried on painting.

Yesterday finished my Nurgle Dreadnought for an upcoming Rogue Trader tournament. Also did a crazy conversion for a D&D game I\'m in. Took a Marvel Heroclix mini of The Thing, took it off its base, then added a loincloth, headband, wrist wraps, and used part of the barrel of a mechanical pencil to make a big tankard in his hand with GW 2-part modeling stuff. He\'s gonna be a Goliath Monk who\'s going into Drunken Master. :D:D:D:D

I\'ll be sure to post the carnosaur when he\'s done, but don\'t hold your breath, this project will probably take a few months.

I also did a bit more with Sethin, but I\'m at the \"this looks like shit\" stage.

I was expecting a reminder along these lines ;). Don\'t worry, it\'ll leave sometime before next weekend, at the latest. Actually the problem isn\'t so much painting it, because there\'s only a small part to do, it\'s sending it away, because by the time I leave work, the damn post offices are closed. :flame:

So everyones stopped painting?

Well, I can\'t speak for everyone, but I haven\'t painted for awhile. HAd some inlaws in last weekend, so was busy, and then I was working long hours all week and didn\'t really have the energy to be painting, and now I have come down with the most terrible cold. I think if I were to be bent over a mini and trying to paint, it would end up covered in more snot than paint! Ewww.

And I really miss it (the painting that is).

Well I have spent aaages cleaning up some Kasrkin and now I can\'t find my primer!

Has anyone had a cast which looks like the 2 sides of the mould werent properly aligned?

Yeah, that can happen, if you can take it back and say its miscast and can you have another, GW are usually really good at replacing things.

I started on a Space Marine conversion today as well as doing a bit more greenstuff work on the carnosaur (yes these are my GD entries being started, not sure 3 months is going to be enough!)

@ Finn17

Don\'t worry, the last mini I did I was despairing about mid-way through, but by the end it all came together really well.

hmm, that sounds strangely familiar :) Although I didn\'t paint today either. But I finished assembling something that took me a few quite painful cuts, lots of greenstuff under my nails and, of course, delivered a ruinous yet heroic end to my manicure :)

Do they? Damn.

Well I took every tool I had to it and lets just say I may be buying a cadian medic in the not too distant future.

thanks for the tip though, I\'d never even have thought of simply asking them.

p.s PRIMER FOUND! :bouncy::D:bouncy:

I did a bit more work on my Dark Angel commander. He is pretty much done except for a few minor last touchups (the blend on his toes, a bit of the front of the skull in his hand, etc).

The current work in progress page can be found here:

Now I just need to base him and build his display base. But here is a quick photo for the forum...

Nothing Today but...

Since I was at Trinoc*coN over the weekend, I did get a couple of minis painted during the speed painting event. Pics forthcoming. They aren\'t bad for one hours jobs. Reaper Battle Nun and Ogre.

Cheers,
Jack

Painting with a friend

I\'ll be working on finishing up a bunch of troups for several Reaper Warlord skirmish groups. A friend called yesterday and wants me to hang out with him and teach him about painting, so that\'s what I have planned for today.

Right now I\'m painting a saurus hero on a cold one, which originally was just a saurus cavalry model to which I\'ve added some stuff to make him more hero-like. But I\'m extremely tired of painting gold NMM now after painting first the oldblood on the carnosaur and now this guy..I\'ll definately go for metallics on my next mini, or at least silver NMM...ok, done complaining :D

I painted 40 Cadians in urban camoflage , and their eyes since about 3 in the afternoon here. I still have to put the arms on oen squad. My hands are cramping and i\'m anxious because I still have 50 plus miniatures to go. And a display base/carrying board that will look like a ruined cathedral and I have little over a month to do it.
