What does your work/paint area look like?

I just thought about this since my wife keeps complaining I am taking over the office room. I wanted to show her that my area is not that bad after all.

This is what mine looks like ,maybe a little more chaotic right now since I am building some terrain right now but close. What does yours look like?

This topic was done HERE and HERE and HERE.

But it\'s been almost a year since the last one and we have plenty of new faces and workspaces to see by now.

:D

@ electro - That\'s not sooo bad but it does appear to be spreading across the floor. Maybe a set of low shelves to put under the calendar to stack that stuff on would appease her.

I know... almost anything you can think of has been put on a thread before... still a fresh thread would not hurt this topic. Iguess the other threads might help me get the wife off my back for a while... thanks for the idea Duende. I am in the process of building one myself but cannot finish it until I move out of this house...

Packing mine up right now to ship it home - when it gets home and set back up then I\'ll shoot it again.

Here\'s my work area (isn\'t it so nice and clean?):

Ok, that was 3 months ago when I was just starting out in the hobbies of Hirst Arts and miniature painting. Since then...well...things have gotten a bit more chaotic:

My painting area is still part-time use of a small computer desk (while the PC is still there!) with all my painting stuff relegated to boxes in a drawer and toolbox when not in use. How am I supposed to get a creative flow going if I can\'t have a proper messy desk ???

On the rare occassion when I get the flat to myself for a couple of days or more, I convert the front room and dining table into a nice big messy studio (but always tidy away before the wife comes home :( )

Glad to see I\'m not the only one, since coming back to Edinburgh I don\'t think I\'ve had more than one model or ten pots of paint out at once!

Most Cluttered it has ever been was this:

Oh and be careful of your Lighting! Thankfully this monitor broke down soon after and I have a non-melted new one under warranty. *phew*

Yikes, does everyone tidy their painting areas especially for these photos?

Granted, my last painting session was frantic (500 points of Orks in 11 hours for the 40k doubles tournament! I rock!) and my painting area now looks like a bomb has hit it, but it is never neat either. These are all compulsive clean in comparison!

Even with that huge window the light is still rubbish because it faces North so barely any light gets in.

O and whats that on my laptop screen ??? O its Snirk the goblin Ruffian! :D

@Duende - Did you paint those curtain borders yourself :D I certainly hope you keep that door locked or you could have a major disaster on your hands.

@Sukigod - I LOVE that cabinet!!! That\'s got to be one of the coolest set-ups I\'ve seen! Of course, if I tried it I\'m sure that it would quickly get to the point where you could no longer close the cabinet, thus defeating the whole purpose. :(

I should try to get some pictures of my area(s) I suppose. Just so I can prove that even if I don\'t POST minis, I do PAINT them. ;) -not necessarily WELL, mind youi, but I DO paint. :D

Sukigod, you got a mfr. name of that cabinet? That would be awesome, I\'d love to get something like that.
It looks pretty old to me! My guess is you can\'t get one anymore...

I am really amazed at how little stuff some of you have on your desks! ??? Mine is constantly crammed with stuff on every available space (and in several places more than one layer...). I have to clear a bit of free space by the chair each time I start to paint so that I have some place to work. :( And I have a really large desk too!

I\'m ashamed to post pics of my work space. At it\'s worst it encompasses the whole of the lounge coffee table and most of the floor. I have tool boxes stacked in front of the TV and miniatures on the mantlepiece, shelving, window ledge, speaker tops....

The attic contains the rest of my stuff and my records, decks, computer, plan chest for artwork and piles of toys. The spare room also contains piles of toys and shelves filled with rulebooks.

My mrs is a saint. I let her have the bedroom though.... :D
