Those are pretty great! I used to do them too, but not that well
In the end I shot them to pieces with airgun, and forgot modelling for years until I got interested in minis...

Started with planes, 1:72 scale, the first one a Kittyhawk, IIRC...
Liked planes very much, used to have them all hang in my room from some fishingline. Only did paint a few though... most of them were just \"grey\" or white, or green... somehow it never occured to me (or us, as I did most of the modelling witha friend of mine) to paint them. This was about...22 years ago or something.
When a WD came out with a Necron in it, (about the start of 3rd ed. I guess) I got hooked up. Painting on-and-off for a few years now, but like to do more things beside painting...

A little bit of this....a little bit of that....
My dad used to fly model planes. I used to help him cut out all the silly little pieces from balsa wood and pin them to the pattern ready for glueing I don\'t think I\'ve ever been the same since - but I put that down to the \'dope\' used to stick the fabric to the wings :duh:
He then bought me some Airfix kits - a few planes and jeeps. Kinda fiddly, but fun. I\'ve always had an interest in arty stuff, making things etc. Blue-Peter was responsible for that - amazing what you can make from a loo roll and sticky tape.
It was then a long, long time later (somewhere around 1985/86/87ish) that I was introduced to roleplaying (all above board I can assure you) and then taken to the GW shop in Torquay. It was all downhill from there
I joined Torbay Military Modelling Society and started painting historical figures - mainly 54/75mm but met up with another guy who did fantasy stuff. We\'ve been friends ever since and together with a couple of other friends have since setup our own model club.

hmmmmm before I painted minis,....
I did loads of writing and sewing and chinese paper cutting...... which explains my very bad eyesight....
well I am still doing writing.... it helps bring in the bacon.......
now if only I can help my family understand what minis are... they have no idea why I am painting them.
