What is your favorite small time mini company?

And I have a strong belief that WarCrow is very underrated. I have all their elf chicks, and the pictures in the online store does not them justice. They\'re very reminiscient of Rackham\'s style, nice sculpts and detail.
That\'s because most of them are sculpted by Yanick Henebo, who used to sculpt for Rackham! :D

I think I tried to post this earlier but it didn\'t go through...

I vote Privateer Press, although I\'m not sure if they count as small time or not (I think so?). Love that company.

Naw I would not count Privateer Press as a small time company anymore. If you would of asked me a year or 2 ago, then I would of said yes.

I can\'t belive I forgot Sacred Blade mini\'s, They have some really great sculpts.

You can pretty much copy and paste what Vile said (lol) for me as well. They are all so... luverly... :D

The only two companies on that list I don\'t have are Spyglass and Hasslefree. My LGS can\'t get them unfortunately, and I\'m not the mail-order type. Too bad, because they have some beautiful stuff! I just got my first DarkAge from Tracy (Tab), and I got a Freebooter for Christmas. If you were to ask me who my favorite sculpter was, I\'d have to go with Werner Klocke, with Chaz Elliot running a close second. Similar styles, I guess. That Warcrow guy might be third, but it\'s so hard!

Warcrow have some great minis, but the whole line isn\'t exptional.
You could probably say that about every mini company.

There\'s some real cack in the latest batch of sculpts from Warcrow - I was really disappointed.... They look like low rent Rackham sculpts some of them.

They do have one or two beauties, but they\'re a little inconsistent at the moment. I guess it\'s a case of finding good sculptors and sticking with them.

I\'d say I like about half of the WarCrow minis! I do hope they continue to hire Yanick Henebo and maybe get him to do other things than dark elves!

Not sure if you will see anymore Yanick sculpts anytime soon. As you know Yanick did our last 2 CMON minis. He has disappeared, last I heard, Rackham was suing him... and as you can see, Warcrow has been coming out with 6 releases every 2 months and this time there are only 4, none by him, which verifies my assumption.

Non-compete contract I assume. But I cannot tell you for sure. All I know is I can no longer get hold of him... :(

that\'s pretty much what I was thinking.
And I don\'t think spyglass have made one mini I haven\'t liked :p So it does exist ;)

Hasslefree is definitely the nicest miniatures company around, Kev White took time from his schedule to give me a sculpting lesson in his garden, which was bloody nice of him, the miniatures are awesome too.

The thing with Spyglass, Hasslefree (with the exception of a couple of sculpts) and Heresy is that they are one man shows. If you like that sculptors style, then you will usually like the whole range. They\'ve got far more creative leeway too which helps.

They also provide a far friendlier service than the big faceless corporations which is always a bonus:)

Yep, Hasslefree are the only ones to put a hand written note in with my order!

Oh, and Sacred Blade of course...:D

i get a note every time with my heresy orders. ditto with sacred blade too.

also like the freebooter stuff

Boy looking at the resaults Dark Age seems to be the most popular, just barely. I may have to re-look at some of their stuff. I have just not been that big of a fan of the sculpts. I love Broms art wrok, but I am not sure how well it lends itself to mini\'s. I don\'t like the size of them either.
