when i was a kid, i always lusted after the AT-AT hoping that each year i would get it, then in 1997 when i was 21 i saw the power of the force one and picked it up and held it in my arms, at that time an old man walked up to me and smiled and said \"you wanted it as a child didnt you?\" i replied yes and he walked away with that old wiselike look going over his face as he left.

so what was the toy you wanted as a child but never got?

Never got one huh? hehe looking at the one I got right now......

sorry couldn\'t help it.

The Scott Benard cyclone tranforming model/action figure. was something like 12in (or so it seem) and the motorcycle tramsformed into the battle armor, I mean HOW FEAKING COOL IS THAT? plus I think that they are going for a small mint now days. but still it\'s a toy to be played with!

A push bike.

Both my sisters and my brother and I were never allowed to have a bike, parents excuse was we couldn\'t have one because we lived on a hill...didn\'t stop us putting a Beano annual on a roller skate and going down said hill though lollollol

I reckon if they had got us bikes it would have cost them less than it did in shoes as we wore the heels out because we used to use the heel of our shoes as brakes :D

A skipper doll. I had Barbie and ken (frst runs I might add. If I knew then what I know now I wouldn\'t have cut her hair) but I wanted the Skipper. Never did get it. <sigh> Now I want little metal dollies. I wonder if there is any coorilation. ???

Not a real toy but I was never allowed to have a dog that was mine it was always someone elses who got to pick out the one they wanted and \"I could play with it\"

I had a kitten but my friggin arsehat neighbors liked it and started leaving saucers of milk out for it and drawing it to their property while I was at school, after a week of sneaking they ran it over with their car. then sent their kids over who laughed as they told me how far it shot out once the tire was over it. Bastards even burried it.

anything i could call mine rather than someone elses. but everything i had, even though my brother also had his own had to be something he could use, nothing that was my own.

most notably a crystal radio thingy. the ones you get a bunch of parts and instructions and build yourself... another being D&D stuff.

I remember doing the whole clue hunt \"Snake Island?\" for a chance to win one of those carriers. Got everything right, but didn\'t win it :(

Transformers Constructicons. They didn\'t release them alongside all the other Transformers in the UK until much later than the rest of the world. And I wanted them badly...

He\'s not the one who got off on killing housepets.

Anyway, a) NOBODY had the USS Flagg, I refuse to believe they actually existed. And b) the want-can\'t-have toy for me was the Kenner Millennium Falcon, I wasn\'t even allowed to buy a junky used one at a garage sale at one point because it \"would just take up room\" (probably true).

If someone ran over my beloved cat/dog and then came over to tell me about it and laughed as they told me how far it shot out I\'d need therapy.

Those who killed the cat are beyond therapy...they need a good beatin\'

@ Steve- I had those construction decepticons, and if its any consolation, they were a bit crap and wouldn\'t make the bigduderobotguy properley.

@NSA- I had the Millenium falcon, and it rocked, I played with it to death!

My want but never got toy was a Mr Frosty, my parents wouldn\'t get us one because he was crap and a waste of money. When I got my first place, the first \'kitchen utensil\' I got myself for it was a Mr Frosty, and my parents were right! He was crap and a waste of money! Although he did come in useful for making vodka slush puppies during parties.

well for me it was generally star wars related but as I started working part time and later full time I managed to complete the whole collection which is now all mine...

what I always wanted as a kid was a computer... all my friends had Commodore 64 or Spectrums .. I only got as far as a plus 4 .....(mind you I do miss Fire Ant)

I don\'t quite remember how it worked or what it was exactly even, but it was a Mighty Max toy and was huge (as far as toys go) and very red... ???

Another was the GW Bloodthirster (5th ed. I believe) which took me about a year to save up for, however, I\'ve got it all painted up :)

EDIT: What\'s with the USS flag?

That\'s when you should have started asking for a Molotov cocktail. Great toys.
Then you could ask the neighbors to come over and play a game I call \"Burning, Fiery, Painful Death.\" Loads of fun.

Drumkit. Wonder why they never gave it to me...?? lol One birthday they did give me drumsticks and a tambourine. I used the sticks on our pots and pans + the tambourine, but it never was like the real thing. I nearly drove my parents insane never the less.

Before I moved out, when I was like 19-20, I lent a drumkit that I beat the hell out off. When mum was at home I just gave her the ear-muffs with built-in FM radio.. :D
