What\'s the one toy you wanted as a kid but never got?

I know this is going to sound lame but when I was a kid, I always wanted a junior chemistry set or a telescope. My mom never bought them for me. She wanted me to have the kind of toys all of the other kids had.

I did get a lot of Star Wars stuff. I didn’t have the Falcon though. No problem about that.
But I really regret not getting was a Space 1999 Eagle. I loved the show when I was a kid. And that opening theme was just too cool.

My cousin had the small die cast ship and the large size one too. You could remove the boosters and front to make a smaller scout ship with the large one.

Disclaimer: eventually I get a few of these things, but it was a long wait...

Wanted a cassette boom box, got my dad\'s old 8 track player and a bunch of neil diamond 8 tracks. Wanted a 10 speed bike, got a granny looking 3 speed. Nintendo! I never got one, but my little brother did. Sega! Ditto the Nintendo. Childhood sucked.

Now our house is full of fun toys! Playstation, Wii, GameCube, foosball, minis, guitars, computers... used to have a pool table. My husband grew up pretty much in the same boat as I did and we both are a bit shop happy now... but we\'re not in debt, so it\'s all good.

Can\'t really say there was a toy I really wanted, or was disappointed to not get. (But that could be memory failure lol)
Used to play a lot with Lego, Meccano and Action Man, (G.I.Joe to you Americans) even used him as a mannequin for Art homework when at school. Yes I actually did some of my homework, mostly the maths, which I Sucked at, so had to concentr........Oh look a butterfly lol (Seriously glad I disposed of all my school books.)

And even now while I still have some elusive \"Holy Grail\" Dragons I\'d like to get hold of, I\'m not crying myself to sleep over them.

Jeez, I guess most of the stuff I wanted as a kid was either Lego, Star Wars or Transformers... I managed to get my Optimus Prime in the summer before the Christmas when they became gold dust so I was pretty pleased with myself for being \'ahead of the game\' on that one

The only thing I desperatley allways wanted was the Tomy \'Omnibot\' radio controlled robot. Tomy had a whole range of toy robots that were animated or drove around by themselves to some extent... I got one of the smaller ones one Christmas and loved it to bits (literally, it\'s head broke off after about three months IIRC), but the biggest one in the range was the \'Omnibot\' which was about 2ft+ tall, had moving arms, could carry things and had a radio control system... when you\'re about 8 or 9, the thought of having your own working robot under your command is a pretty huge draw... but it was a good £100 or so ($200 ish I guess) and they were REALLY hard to get hold of. There was also an even larger \'Omnibot 2000\' which they came out with later, but that was even more expensive and was actually programmable IIRC.... it kinda looked like w robotic ET.

Still trying to get one of them now.... good ol ebay may be the answer

Hate to say it but I\'m with Uber on this one - it was always the AT-AT for me, my friend had one and I hated him for it (although I did have 2 AT-STs so I suppose I could have joined them together)

there wasn\'t anything i wanted that my parents wouldn\'t get me. not that i was spoiled but i was easily pleased. a few boxes of lego and i\'d be playing for hours!

the one thing that i would have liked though (and they didn\'t sell it at the time) was star wars lego. kids these days don\'t know they\'re born!

My Brother had one of those 2000\'s! That thing was pretty cool. Although he programed the thing only a couple of times (and if memory serves it was a bear to do so) I think that he spent more time disassembling and putting it back together. He loved (and still does) taking things apart and seeing how they work. Case in point, the family stereo at the age of three.

Ah Legos! Perhaps the best toy ever! What kid could turn down a box of those?

Micronauts were great.

I was like 4 or 5 years old and we went to Disneyland for Xmas (really bad idea, I think everyone else thought it would be dead on Xmas as well). I\'ve been told I was uber upset that I thought that I wouldn\'t get anything for Xmas as we weren\'t at home, that Santa wouldn\'t come etc. My parents even went so far as to buy one of those paper mache trees to apease me.

Now if I remember correctly Santa did come in Florida with something or another, what I really remember more strongly though was coming home. When we got home a week or whatever it was later my bed was literally covered with Micronauts! I guess my Grandfather got the keys off my parents and layed all the stuff out, but for me at the time Santa was the best ever!

I actually still have all mine, though they aren\'t in the best shape as I was like 5 when I got them and played with them for years. My favourite was a set that was a bunch of tubes and there was an air compressor thing, you would put a guy in the tube and they would fly all over the \'city\' on the forced air. That was awesome.

I have mine sitting under my desk at the moment waiting for me to put new motors in it. I still have the trailer AND the boxes for both, but I\'m not selling it. NEVER I TELL YOU!!!!!

First thing that came to mind was the G.I. Joe aircraft carrier. I guess I\'m not the only one.

My spoiled cousin had a lot of space legos, but he always just build them as per the instructions, and never used them creatively. I had a very small lego collection, maybe 400-500 blocks. But I made all sorts of stuff, planes, the millenium falcon (out of 7 blocks), submarines, tons of stuff. I always wished I had more though. We didn\'t have much money, and as you know, lego is expensive. It\'s ok though, I\'m using the lego designer on my pc, which is nearly as fun, and spoiling my nieces with lots of lego. Get to play every time I\'m there

As for the one that DIDN\'T get away?

I\'ve been fooling around with little buildings for a long time now.
