Sarah McLachlan - either \"Possession\", \"Fumbling Towards Ecstasy\", or maybe \"Angel\". While she was never goth or anything, her music has been getting less \"dark\" lately, but if an artist spends too much time being dark... well I\'ll just say \"shout out to all Elliott Smith fans\".

Top six, in chronological order...

1. Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong
2. Stand By Me by Ben E. King
3. Crazy Train by Ozzy Ozbourne
4. Only the Good Die Young by Billy Joel
5. White Wedding by Billy Idol
6. Ass Like That by Eminem

My current favorite is always changing, and I have over 1200 pieces of music on my hard drive, all of which have been my favorite at one time or another.

My all time favourite band is Primus. My all time favourite song of theirs is \"My name is mud\"

I have highly eclectic tastes, too. 15 gig of mp3\'s.

My favourite band that none of you will have heard of is Regurgitator. Awesome aussie band.

Isn\'t that song called \" Enter Sandman\"? It was obscenely popular when I was in high school. I still think it was one of their last good songs...

Don\'t I look like a buttmunch. I\'m terrible with names. I don\'t even own the CD, I just copied it on to my Xbox so I don\'t know any of the names. Mind you it\'s my favorite song right now. Ask me again in a week and I\'ll give you another answer.

Shout - Otis Daye & The Knights version, from Animal House.
I sing this one, and it\'s one of the only two songs I do that\'s gotten me a standing ovation (and a packed dance floor)
The other is Ballroom Blitz, by Sweet.

To just listen to...
I\'d have to say Lightning Crashes.

I\'d have to say:

Matchbook Romance - Promise

I saw someone mention Halford earlier and it reminded me of Nightcrawler (although that\'s when he was still in Judas Priest I think) such a good song to punch ur fist to :D

I\'m not surprised to see the almost universal love of alternative music, it\'s always seemed to be a part of miniature painting and miniature wargaming but I\'ve never quite been able to work out why, great minds think alike perhaps

Hard one...

I can still listen to pretty much anything by Guns \'n Roses, Metallica, Iron Maiden and AC/DC... but Nightwish are also in the tops, as well as some very misc stuff... Genesis to Gwen Stefani to Beethoven... Hell, I even love Webber\'s Phantom of the Opera... so stone me :p

As for favorite song, like mentioned before, that\'s like choosing your favorite child. But GnR\'s \"Mr Brownstone\" springs to mind... kind of Aerosmith-ish...

I avoided this like the plague because I knew it would become a \'my favourite 20 obscure bands and associated tracks\' session. Folks, read the question posed. One band and then one tune thereof.

FFS!

Wedding Present - Felicity

Now that was easy wasn\'t it? You lot would beat yourselves to death if anyone gave you a stick. No smileys are included in this message. I ain\'t smiling.

You are an angry fellow sometimes aren\'t you Rev? I would rather see the reasoning behind choices, and also have no problem with longer lists - it reminds me of tunes and groups I\'d long forgotten or makes me want to check out new ones I might have missed otherwise.

For me this thread would be a lot less interesting and just another outlet for people to improve their post count if it was completely limited to one favourite band and one favourite song.

Music is an interesting insight into people\'s minds and personalities and something many are very passionate about. Musical preference says a lot about the person in my eyes, and I think it deserves an answer more than a couple of words long because for many that answer is going to be impossible to give.
