As a painter, Rackham provide the best challenge IMO. I would not like to play with them however, as many of them seem over-large or too fragile to make good playing pieces.
GW can go **** themselves as far as I am concerned from now on.:flame:
Best all round pieces, good to paint, good to play has got to be I-Kore..Celtos and Void.

I like Dark Age a lot, the game system is great! Similar to VOR, but the miniatures are some of the best I\'ve ever seen! Specially the Dragyri are my favorites. And if you compare the prices of these large miniature (Dragyri) they\'re far less expensive than GW or Rackham (the wulfen models are 3x as expensive)

i don\'t game at all so no comments on that front. as far as the miniatures are concerned, i only have gw figures. i really like their necromunda, inquistor and new wh chaos stuff coz their really detailed and flexible. i do, however, hate the rather expensive pricing.:flame:

i haven\'t bought any but i\'ve had a look at darkage online and love the arwork.

i\'m thinking of buying a few from other lines but the hobby shop near me only really sells gw. i guess i\'ll have to keep my eyes open:eek:

Wow, it\'s hard to choose just one! For Fantasy I like Rackham and i-Kore best. They are very different but both cool in their own way :)

For sci-fi I think Dark Age is my favorite. The casting is great and I think most of the sculpts are very original.

Favourites.....

Right now I\'m lovin\' Rackham, buying like mad.

So, today my preferences:
1) Rackham
2) I-Kore\'s Celtos Elves & Gaels
3) GW\'s mostly Chaos Marines & Tomb Kings
4) Reaper, any Warlord I can get my hands on.

Darkblade

I really like the quirkiness of Rackham and also the quality of the sculpts, so would probably rate them as my favourite. But I like the look of the Privateer stuff and of course I-Kore are very mentionable. GW never changes the record.... YAWN!

Can\'t say there\'s one manufacturer in particular that I prefer over all others. Plenty produce some very nice minis. Bit of an impossible question for me to answer really. Don\'t want to nail my colours to one brand as I\'m a bit of miniatures slag!

lol

Granted, I am slightly biased, but Dark Age is my favorite for Sci-Fi - I mean look at those Dragyri! I do like Rackham, but I think my fantasy vote would go to Crocodile if they were on the list.

Um hey guys, how about Spy Glass Miniatures? The figures are nice crisp and creative.

To be honest though my favore mini line for just pure minis is Reaper. They have one of the most varied libraries of figs. Lets face it thier characters look like they belong in a D&D game. But the fact of the matter is every figure is hit or miss. They have thier gems Rackham Wolfen and thier weaknesses GW\'s Cpt. Cortez

I\'m the ultimate Reaper FanGirl

Especially after getting a tour of their facilities and getting to meet everyone (who were all super nice, and it had nothing to do with the 5 dozen cookies I took them) ... the folks at Reaper have just been the best. Their forum is a place of stress relief, they\'ve got Sandra Garrity, and Julie Guthrie (whose minis were the first I owned) and even Ed Pugh has emailed me with assistance in getting a Reapermini Spreadsheet (I\'ll post a link of it in my sig) made up detailing all the OOP minis as well as current.

Speaking of which, I need to update that spreadsheet... :flip:

I like some of the Rackham minis, (sorry guys, hate those dwarves!:p) but I\'d have to say, overall, my fav is Reaper. You can\'t beat them for the price and the quality.:)

Drumroll please...

I miss the old Ral Partha stuff, some of it was a bit cartoony but my games lean less towards complete seriousness and more towards non-stop laughs.
I went from there to Reaper minis because while they rarely have a \"knock \'em dead\" mini in the bunch their style is beautiful and consistant.
Most recently I was glad to see Spyglass mini\'s with a clean and crisp feel that isn\'t over decorated and feels more natural.

Other

I like \"Other\" manufacturer the most :D

Okay, fine, old school Ral Patha kicks butt! My fav by a mile. Then maybe Reaper for their selection and the price is just right :)

i\'m currently very impressed with what rackham is producing.

GW has been less than spectacular of late, imho. Still some nice stuff, like typhus, the new empero\'s champion, some of the deamonhunters stuff, and some of the inquisitor line. But over all I think they are rushing things to production. The new farseers as a case in point:flame: ( as a long time eldar player I was choked when I saw those. BRING BACK JES!)
Reapers new warlord line has some very nice sculpts..kind of Rackham lite (not as damaging to the old hobbie budget:D)

hmmmmm

I can\'t beleive I am the first but I LOVE GW\'s stuff. The others (in particular Celtos, Rackam and everything in the CMoN shop) are great. Hell they probably have some that are better than GW on a one off competition but for depth of line and consistant quality of sculpt and cast I have to give it to GW.

if they build them i will come....

I like just about every manufacturer out there. I think we are living in the golden age of minis. Price, selection, availability, and interest are all peaking.

I\'d go with dark age for S-F and GW for fantasy. I also like the devourers from rackham, but I haven\'t bought any yet.
