I read, though, I could be wrong, that he went to the army, in a squadron that was due to go to Iraq. But once again I could be wrong.Originally posted by mud duck
Ok stupid question here. Has he joined the British Army or the Navy? I thought that it was \"tradishion\" to join the Navy. Either way I would think that a couple of weeks in boot, with a dog face DI breathing down the back of his neck will get any ideas of superurity out of his mind, royal blood or not. I\'d think that if anything the whole experince would bring him down to the level of the \'common\' man, officer or not.
Now the question is if he joined the Army, what MOS is he getting into? Tanker, Infantry, SAS, Combat Engineer? What?

I believe they cost us more than they earn....if we sent them all off to the Falkland Islands and just opened all their palaces and castles to the paying public. Took all our art treasures back and exhibited them properly...we\'d make a lot more money. People don\'t pay to see them, no one hardly ever sees them, they just want to gawp at the paraphenalia...Originally posted by marineboy
But seriously, if the monarchy is making money for the firm, then things must be working properly, no?

:flip:
I enjoy the cut and thrust of debate myself but feel that we ought to wait until we find something we actually disagree on before crossing swords
Steelcult: You are quite right of course, but this is supposed to be 2006....

How do you know that? Have you been to a parallel universe where the British empire never existed?
Both Iraq and Palestine are former British \"protectorates\". Look how well they turned out.
