Who is the most \"Special\" person in your life?

Now by \"special\" I don\'t mean the nicest or the one you love the most. I mean the biggest git (using a British term) you\'ve ever met. Give us a story. As gamers we must know hundreds of \"special\" people.

There have been any number of odd, annoying, strange people in my life but I think the one that stands out the most is a girl I went to high school with named Ruth. I actually have never met anyone with the name Ruth that wasn\'t a little off center.

This Ruth was one of those psyco chicks you don\'t want to get involved with. She must have been extrememly lonely. I avoided talking to her all through school not because I was mean but because she just gave me the creeps. Finally on the last day of my senior years I apologized for being cold to her all those years. Her face lit up like a beacon. I knew I was in trouble.

She started showing up at my house. When I moved out she tracked me down. Every time I moved she tracked me down. She got weirder and weirder as time went on. So odd she was in and out of mental institutes. And always, she\'d track me down. It actually scared me after a while.

Finally, after 10 years of popping up at the worst times (including my wedding even though she wasn\'t invited) she disapeared. I haven\'t seen her in 20 years. That doesn\'t mean anything. I\'m sure she\'s out there looking for me. Now that I\'ve written about her I\'m sure she\'ll pop up. Probably with some sharp kitchen knife wondering why I abandoned her all those years ago.

So who\'s the biggest, scariest person you know?

Popping up at your wedding? Eek!

I was bullied by a freak at my school for a couple of years, he used to follow me and my friend everywhere and make up really weird stories about being attacked by his fictional brothers... he also took the piss out of both my parents having cancer, and nearly strangled my friend. And he is ginger. He seems to be a reformed character now, though lol

Oh, and by the way, one of my uncles married his cousin, and she turned out to be a psychopath. She wouldn\'t let him see our side of the family, so I\'ve only met him this year now that he\'s divorced. She\'s never once had a job her whole life and leeches of other people. And guess what her name is? Ruth :D

This jerk would hang out at my dorm room as much as he could pestering me, my future wife, my roommates, anyone in smelling distance. He was studying drama with a minor in computer science, so the joke was that after graduation he\'d be able to act like he knew something about computers. He couldn\'t take a hint to leave, so we ended up using a secret knock (I know... pretty cagey) to avoid him. One time he sat on my future wife\'s coat, which had been thrown over a chair, and stunk it up so bad we had to have it dry cleaned.

After not graduating from college, he ended up living in his car and working at... the movie theater that my wife was assistant managing! They had a little tiny box office in the middle of a mall, and none of the other employees would work in there with him because he smelled so bad. My wife had to give him the \"personal hygiene\" talk. Apparently it\'s difficult to shower when living in one\'s car. (Side note: He didn\'t seem to smell any worse than when he was living in the dormitory with access to a shower daily!)

After the movie theater he got a job in the mall at the video game place (his one and only passion.... or so we thought at the time. Keep reading!) We lost track of him after that.

About a year ago Stef calls me over to the TV. \"Mike! Alan\'s on the TV!\" Yup. It was him. Arrested for soliciting a 14 year old for sex. His computer was apparently lousy with kiddie porn too. Whoops. Have fun in jail, Alan!

 One person comes to mind........Mr Wilmarr a fellow boarder at the Miramar Base Stables, who had an opinion on everything pertaining to care of horses and rules of the stable, which he gave out freely.

Many was the time I would get unwanted chiding for turning my horse out wearing his halter. Safety says a haltered horse could catch it on the fence and be in deep curry.

Ok, I know my stout and I mean fat steed, the most he was going to do at his elderly age was walk to the middle, lay down and roll.

Then when finished with his dirt bath a couple of things would happen..... lay there and take a short half hour nap or lumber to his feet buck and fart for about 15 feet, then come to the out gate and nap while waiting. He had three speeds.....stand......walk as slow as possible .....trot if it was close to feeding time............lope wasn’t in his DNA>

But I had mastered the ancient art or “in one ear out the other” when it came to Mr Wilmarr.lol

Hmm, I think the biggest git was my mum\'s boyfriend/fiancee from about 12-9 years ago. He seemed okay to start with. They met on holiday. Before long he moved in with us. He started his own business which meant he had a lot of travelling to do (not as much as he said though). He was also, apparently, part of a mountain rescue team and in the RAF helicopter rescue team. he had the uniform, the green flashing light on the car and everything. Apart from the fact my mum would wait up for his phonecall when he was away things seemed okay. I had this niggling feeling that all was not quite right, though. I put this to one side as I thought I was just concerned that sometimes my mum would be waiting up toomlong for those calls and she was getting too stressed sometimes. I didn\'t like the fact that he borrowed money from my mum for his business, but hey, they were going to get married, so that was okay, right? I think the first real thing that I couldn\'t explain away was the fact he had some illness, something to do with his bloodwhich meant he would cough blood up sometimes. I thought, how can he be part of these rescue teams with a problem like that? Surely he would be a liability. The thing was, that most of this time I was at university so I guess it all got pushed to one side. They were due to be married in the summer of 98. About a week before the wedding date, my aunt and uncle turned up at our house. My uncle had seen the guy\'s car somewhere else in town, when he was supposed to be out of the country. After knocking on the door to the house the car was parked outside of and was told by a woman there that he was in the pub, my uncle confronted him. After that he came to tell my mum and take her to see him. He claimed that he wasn\'t ready to get married as his last marriage was so bad or something. We\'d heard the stories of the issues with his ex. He painted her out to be a bitch. Obviously my mum was devastated.

But that\'s not the end of the story...

After a few months and some conversations with him, he convinced my mum he still loved her and it was just that he wasn\'t ready to be married, that he was a coward for not telling her sooner. She took him back, although he never came to the house again. There was one occasion when she went with him to a conference or something and she met one of the women who worked in the office, my mum thought she had said something like she was this guy\'s fiancee. My mum asked him about it and he somehow managed to talk his way out of it, explaining it away. Now, a few months passed. I answered the phone to a woman who was asking for my mum. She wasn\'t in. This woman thought I was her husband or something as she said did I know my wife was having an affair with her husband. I had to wait until my mum got home to tell her about this. It turns out this woman was the woman at the conference and indeed she had married this guy. So, again, my mum felt terrible. She, of course being the person she is, blamed herself for his lies. The relationship finally ended.

And yet the story continues...

A while later, can\'t remember how long, my mum gets a call from the police about him. Apparently he had been secretly filming the women\'s lavatory at his offices. Through all the investigations and court case it turns out he used his wife\'s money to prop up his business. She has now lost her house. He wasn\'t in the rescue teams and his ex-wife was a victim of his behaviour, not the other way around. He got away with some minor sentence, no jail time or anything.

And so that\'s where we leave this sorry tale, with the guy last seen somewhere in Scotland.

Yeah I really don\'t know this is a tough one . . . Well here\'s the best story because it really was quite a lame attempt

So, I got into gaming and painting minis about three years ago when my college boyfriend introduced me to the hobby. So, I decided to get the Core Three rule books and my own set of dice. I wanted my dice to be sparkly and girlie and otherwise cute. Well, I was still getting to know the guys working at the game store but they were all nice guys and they more or less treated me like their little sister for the several years I shopped there.

Anyway, so I saunter up to the counter where all the dice are kept and I wait patiently for Bill to come over and help me. I\'ve already spotted the ones I want. I just need to grab them and then peruse the books. While I\'m waiting this guy comes up to me (the really geeky type) and starts to make small talk with me.

\"So, what do you play?\"
\"Excuse me?\"
\"You\'re buying dice . . . what do you play?\"
\"D&D.\"
\"How long have you been playing?\"
\"I am just now learning how to play.\"
\"Oh well let me give you a little hint. If you buy the clear dice you can\'t weight them (said in what I assume was supposed to be a sexy purr of a voice)\"

Thank God Bill walked up just then . . . but seriously did this guy think I would that amusing? attractive? hot in anyway by trying to pick me up using a dice line?

Creepy!

Donna, it\'s not all been doom and gloom for my mum. A week last saturday she got engaged to a thoroughly decent chap. Known him and his for years. He lost his first wife a few years ago and my mum lent her shoulder to cry on. They just got closer as time went by.

Well, they\'re not setting a date yet; but when they do get married I will get a step dad, step brother, three step sisters (wll, two by law, the other was a girl they fostered but has always considered them her family), one step niece, and three step nephews.

Nope, sorry - haven\'t got a thing to contribute here -

Except I used to buy my tobacco and cigars from a man who had spent time in a Texas prison for being one of the largest illegal controlled substance transporters in South Texas.
