looking good, but the flayed skin needs a bit more dirt/darkness/gore. I appreciate that its still very much a work in progress, though :)

Love the darker skin tones, this looks like a great set of mini's together.

I like the palid colours in the flayed skins so far, just started reading this thread and it is one of those i was really glad it just kept going, more updates please ;)

Very nice minis!! I think the darker skin and furs looks much better and are closer to the inspiration from Underworld.

Cheers Guys

@me_in_japan - all that goes on at the end pal.

I repainted the alpha wolf's flayed skin as it was a little sloppy and unsmooth and did the 2nd wolf at the same time

I love what you did with these on the second version of the skin. Most people utterly hate these models but I enjoy them personally.

I love these minis, and I just got some at Chicago, but now I cannot paint them this year, as it would seem like I was copying you! You have made them beautiful! I guess I will just do my Fimir...

Seriously, great job, MrDee!

@SkelettetS - Thanks pal, when i focus i guess i do, it's just finding that initial focus and not shooting too many zombies in left for dead.......

@10ball - there will be no popping out I'll have you know! That's borderline pornographic :p Thanks pal

@Empchild - I'm with you on them pal, well now they gave me decent casts of the things

@MightyChad - dont be a soft lad! get them painted!

@-TaddyMadeMeDoIt- - there will be yes pal, although I am not going to mental with it.

Looking great Damo!! Although I like the idea of glowing eyes, i reckon they look fine as they are. Little bright fires in dark pits make them look eeevil

agreed. The tongue is spot on, and the eyes are working well, too (although I like freak's suggestion of glowy pits). I'm just waiting for you to get in there with the gore and stuff so I can say "yay!" :D

@freakinacage - Cheers pal, I was thinking about the Ashburton show the other day, next time I will make sure I can stay longer and bring some painting stuffs :D Personally I think the glowing eyes will be a little strange, I much prefer the way I have done them, NOT because I have done them, but instead because they make them look manic like you would expect from say Úlfhéðnar which in my mind the skin wolves would be a decent fantasy representation of.

@KruleBear - Just imagine it licking your face and then trying to hump your leg........oh wait that's the Skin Wolves with a mark of Slaanesh.....

@me_in_japan - Don't worry yays won't be far off pal, consider it a proverbial roof on the house. But I am not going to go to mental with it, will be to compliment rather than overpower, I don't want people to think that I am covering up flaws in my painting ability with gore as I sometimes feel it may come across as such especially as these are for Golden Demon and the judges will not have read my WIP.

Nice work. I love the dark tone much better than your first painted model. I really love the yellow eyes too! Care to share how you do them :)

Sure,

1. Black out the eye socket and eye ball.
2. The basecoat the eye ball a mustard yellow/brown colour (RMS Leather Brown, VGC Filthy Brown - something along those lines)
3. Glaze eye red (I used red ink - but your choice regular paint will suffice)
4. Reapply the basecoat colour in a more glaze like consistency leaving some of the red showing at the edges.
5. Layer a nice bright yellow (I used RMS yellow saffron) in a glaze, keep applying to a smaller and smaller area.
6. Paint the pupil, in black.
7. Reapply black around the eyeball if necessary to tidy up

Might seem like a lot of stages but only takes about 5 mins
